Coolie as Majdoor in Hindi gets BAD RESPONSE / Kayadu Lohar with Tovino STARTS

 

Apart from single release tomorrow, The latest news is that Coolie will have a different title, and it will be released as ‘Majdoor’ in Hindi. Reportedly, the title change in Hindi might be because of rights issues, as Amitabh Bachchan’s old film is also titled Coolie (1983). Also, there are other films like Govinda’s Coolie No. 1 (1995) and Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1 (2020). So, Rajinikanth’s Coolie will have a different title, and it will be released as ‘Majdoor’ in Hindi. The film is slated to be released on August 14, clashing with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2.

The title change was revealed in a recent promo for the song “Chikithu,” which drops on June 25. While Coolie is retained in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, the Hindi promo ends with the surprising new title Majadoor. Social media reacted instantly — and brutally. Fans called the new title “poor,” “bland,” and “outdated,” arguing that Coolie had stronger mass appeal, instant connect, and nostalgic value.
The film also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Bashir, Upendra, and Kaali Venkat, alongside Aamir Khan in a cameo.

After so many speculations, Kayadu Lohar is now at the locales of the Malayalam film starring Tovino Thomas. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film is set in the late 1950s, and it shows the struggles and hopes of migrant farmers living in Kerala’s high-range regions. Dijo Jose took to his Instagram handle to share a snap with the team.

Tovino Thomas, who was recently seen in Narivetta, will work with director Dijo Jose Antony for a big-budget film named Pallichattambi. The film’s shooting began today, June 23.

Kayadu Lohar teams up with Tovino Thomas for Pallichattambi, which is set against the backdrop of 1957–58. It will not be just another period film and tries to depict some intense and unknown battles. 

Director Dijo Jose Antony, known for ‘Queen,’ ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ and ‘Malayalee From India,’ directs this most awaited project of Tovino Thomas. The script is written by Suresh Babu (of ‘Shikkar,’ ‘Oruthee,’ and ‘Dadasaheb’ fame). 

The film will be made on a large scale with a stunning production design, led by renowned art director Dileep Nath. 

Kayadu had acted in Vinayan's notable period film is "Pathonpathaam Noottaandu" (Nineteenth Century), which is a historical drama set in 19th century Kerala. She played a Kalaripayattu exponent in the film.

Udhaynidhi son Joins Kalaignar TV / Coolie to be Lokesh- Aamir film LCU / Jacqueline at Sri Sri Ashram

Inbanidhi, the 21-year-old son of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and grandson of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, formally assumed responsibilities in the management team of Kalaignar TV on 3 June 2025 — the birthday of DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi.

Inbanidhi, who holds a degree in financial management from London, was accompanied by his mother Kiruthiga to the Kalaignar TV office located at the DMK headquarters in Arivalayam.

He was warmly received by Karthikeyan — son of Chief Minister Stalin’s wife Durga’s sister — who currently serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. According to DMK officials, Inbanidhi is involved in financial management and regularly consults with key team members.

Dinamalar reports that Inbanidhi is said to work from 11:00 AM until 5:30 PM each day at the television network’s office in Neelankarai, Chennai.

Lokesh to Repeat Leo Record with Coolie / Thalapathy could not folllow Kamal's advice

Why Lokesh Kanagaraj will repeat Leo success with Coolie and Rajinikanth ?  Released in 2023, Leo marked the reunion of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay after Master. With crazy hype on the ground, the film clocked a superb 66 crore net at the Indian box office on day 1.  This figure was possible after Leo clocked high figures in two Telugu States as well as in Kerala and Karnataka. Now Coolie will have to play second fiddle to War 2 that has NTR Je with Hrithik. But looks like Coolie is just a rampage in these States after the lukewarm response to War 2.

Coolie has many things going its way. It has many familiar faces, including Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna. And on top of that there is adequate commercial appeal with the massy BGMs and commercial visuals.

 Malayalam- Tamil actor Ravindran known as Disco Ravindran in an interview says that Rajinikanth in his intial days was very depressed and angry. Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming sequel action written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and produced by Sun Pictures. Rajinikanth’s Coolie shooting has been wrapped up and producer Sun announced it. Lokesh Kanagaraj took 160 days shooting days so far and it his most number od days that spend on a film till now. Originally announced as Thalaivar 171 in September 2023, the film was officially titled Coolie in April 2024. Director Shankar {ress Release in full I wish to bring to public attention a recent action taken by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Chennai Zonal Office, in which they have provisionally attached three immovable properties of mine, based on baseless plagiarism allegations related to the film Enthiran (Robot). Till date, there is no communication from the Enforcement Directorate regarding the attachment, but the attachment was widely circulated in Media. This action not only misinterprets the legal facts but also represents a clear misuse of the legal process. It is crucial to highlight that the matter concerning these allegations was already thoroughly adjudicated by the Hon'ble High Court in Civil Suit No. 914/2010. The Court carefully examined the evidence and arguments from both sides, dismissing the claim filed by Aarur Tamil Nadan, which sought to declare him as the rightful copyright holder of the Enthiran story. Despite this clear judicial resolution, the Enforcement Directorate has proceeded with the attachment of my properties, relying on an independent report from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), and ignoring the binding judgment of the Hon'ble High Court in C.S.No.914/2010. Furthermore, the private complaint referred to by the Enforcement Directorate has already been stayed by the Hon'ble High Court, Chennai in the order passed in Crl.MP.No.13914/23 in Crl.Op.No.20452/23. Given these facts, I am deeply disheartened by the continued action of the ED, despite a clear legal ruling from the Civil Court, which categorically stated that no copyright violation took place. This overreach represents a blatant abuse of the legal process. I trust the authorities will review their actions and cease further proceedings in this matter. The catch is that South hero plays Father role and also his age. Here he sort of a Godfather kind guy but a rustic one. Insiders say that Salman who had seen Virasaat was excited . Story was pitched to Kamal ( original story is Kamal) and expected happened. Now it was Chiru’s turn. Here it seems it sounded like Jilla of Vijay- Mohanlal. But Chiru found it close to Seetharamaraju. Now will Rajinikanth bite the reworked script ? Kamal had at that time used a software called Movie Magic to write the screenplay. Taxes by Pushpa 2 Producers have been paid for Rs 282 crore as collections from Andhra and Telangana The claimed amount was Rs 380 crores. Including areas where it distributed through third party the amount claimed was Rs 831 crores and producers paid for Rs 612 crores. Rs 219 crores was overinflated claim. In Andhra/ TS the actual amount and claimed amount differed by Rs 98 crores. The total amount of Rs 1700 crores including overseas now seems to be over inflated by a great margin. With Rs 219 crore less from outside AP/TS and Rs 98 crore from two Telugu States, the shortfall in India collection is Rs 317 crores. So who is give actuals from overseas ?. A reasonable Rs 1200 crores would be great. A report claims Nelson’s salary for Jailr2, the director is said to have been paid a staggering 60 crores. If true, this amount places him among the highest-paid Indian directors. His remuneration for the first installment is unknown, but it is learned that Nelson has witnessed a crazy hike in his sum. Coming to Anirudh, the music sensation is already the highest-paid Indian music director, overtaking AR Rahman. Reportedly, he was paid a salary of 10 crores for his music and background music in Jailer. If the rumors are to be believed, he has been paid a whopping 18 crores for Jailer 2, a humongous hike of 80%. For Jailer, Rajinikanth reportedly got a salary of over 100 crores, and after the film’s success, he received an additional amount. Now, going by rumors, his Jailer 2 remuneration is much above 200 crores, which helps him overtake Thalapathy Vijay’s 200 crore salary for The Greatest Of All Time.

Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan recorded a TRP of 11.65 for its Tamil premiere on Sun TV. This is really good as it surpassed Thalapathy Vijay’s by a much bigger margin.The GOAT registered a TRP 7.60 with its ZEE Tamil premiere. Compared to this, Vettaiyan recorded a 53.28% higher rating. While Vettaiyan beat GOAT in Pongal TRP, Amaran of Sivakarthikeyan telecast on Star Vijay had only 8.5 TRP. A R Rahman is joining Aanand L Rai – Dhanush who are collaborating once again for their third project, Tere Ishk Mein. Following their successful outings on Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, this film is set in the spiritual town of Rishikesh and the film’s music is expected to play a big role in the story.

Rajinikanth spoke to the media at the airport and revealed the film Coolie has already completed 70 percent of the shooting. The next shooting schedule takes place in Thailand from January 13 to January 28, 2025. “Coolie” is the first combo between Rajinikanth and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for blockbusters such as “Khaidi,” “Vikram,” and “Leo.” “Coolie” is slated for release in May 2025. The film has Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Upendra in key roles. Shruti Haasan appears is the main lead actress.

Music director Illaiyaraaja's video paying tribute to the late Actor-director Manobala has stirred up controversy among netizens due to his self-praise. The video starts with Illaiyaraaja mentioning Manobala's great respect for him and goes on to say that Manobala used to wait at the Kodambakkam bridge to catch his attention. He further claims that Manobala was one among many directors who waited there to get him to score music. This self-praise has not gone down well with many viewers who find it distasteful. Manobala, who had a YouTube channel called "Waste Paper," talked about his journey in films. In one such video, he spoke about directing the Tamil remake of the Hindi film "Khoon Bhari Maang." Initially hesitant to take up the project, Manobala was convinced by Radhika, who assured him that the screenplay would be modified to appeal to Tamil audiences and that the renowned writer Kalaignar (the DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi) would write the script. Despite initial reluctance, Kalaignar accepted the project, thanks to Radhika's persuasion, even though the film lacked political undertones. Manobala also mentioned that Radhika insisted that he not alter Karunanidhi's dialogues, even if they sounded outdated.
