1. 
   Vivek Athreya & Mythiri Movie Makers - A commercial Mumbai gangster film. Most likely will be Thalaivar’s next film, followed by his few month break to begin writing his autobiography 
2. Nithilan Swaminathan & Red Giant - That’s right after Nithilan completes another film post Maharaja (Likely with Vijay Sethupathy), he will be teaming up with Thalaivar for a gritty drama. This will be out of his zone completely, and features a beautiful non-linear narration.
3. Lokesh Kanagaraj & Sun Pictures - The biggest action fantasy in Tamil Cinema, fully shot in IMAX. The film was going to happen before Coolie, but due to time constraints they decided to do it after Lokesh completes his LCU.
4. H Vinoth - During Jana Nayagan shoot Vinoth narrated an action thriller to Thalaivar who loved it and asked to develop it. Will happen after Vinoth’s project with Dhanush.
5. Mari Selvaraj - Was going to take off post Karnan, but Mari wanted to begin his period magnum opus with Dhanush first before this one- which Rajini said okay to. That project after many delays and producer changes is starting early next year, so if that film even breaks even then this film will happen right after. A rural political action film- one of the best scripts narrated to Thalaivar in a long time said by himself.

Lokesh Kanagaraj & RKFI - Staged to be one of the final projects of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, both of them have agreed to act in a violent gangster drama revolving around two aged sons overseeing and navigating their vast empire. One of Lokesh’s dream projects. They have worked together in 21 films in 5 Languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.It includes 3 Bi-lingual Thappu Thalangal (Tamil - Kannada), Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum (Tamil - Malayalam) and Ninaithale Inikkum (Tamil - Telugu)..Balachander has directed both of them in 7 films Apoorva Raagangal, Anthuleni Katha, Moondru Mudichu,Avargal, Thappu Thalangal, Ninaithale Inikkum and Thillu Mullu.Sripriya acted in 6 films which starred both Kamal and Rajini. 8. . Karthik Subbaraj & Sun Pictures - During Jigarthandha Double X days he narrated a script to Thalaivar which he liked a lot and asked to develop. This is not the same script or similar as Retro it’s a different grey shaded film on the lines of Iraivi.
9. Vetrimaaran - During Viduthalai time he narrated a script which Thalaivar liked and he asked to develop it. Not green-lit yet but in talks. A gritty rural gangster drama.

Rajinikanth Fans worried over Thalapathi comparison / PLOT and Salary

 A recent comment from Rajinikanth, shared by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself, has left fans feeling uneasy. According to the director, Rajini watched Coolie, hugged him, and said, “It looked like Thalapathi to me.”. For one Thalapthi is an iconic movie but not a blockbuster HIT. After Kamal Haasan saying that Thug Life reminded him of Nayakan, audience expected a similar high emotion charged film but was disappointed.. Rajinikanth fans are asking their idol to be cautious with such comparisons. Rajinikanth plays an aged grey shaded Coolie with a violent past, and is somehow connected to the massive gold smuggling operations happening in the harbor by major big wigs (Lead by Nagarjuna).

Lokesh Kanagaraj stated that this is his attempt in showing Rajinikanth in a darker and more villainous shade, but in the positive note of Thalapathi.

• Lokesh initially wrote a proper action fantasy for Rajinikanth, which is shot with IMAX cameras and is the biggest budget Tamil film. But the project took too long to materialize after Rajini immediately agreed, so they decided to do it after some time- but the project is on with Sun Pictures.
• Every day on set there were 700–1000 people working on set, and it’s that kind of massive film which talks about the truths of harbor politics and gangsterism.
• It’s been 4 months since shoot ended, and because Lokesh misses Rajinikanth dearly, he visits the shoot of Jailer 2 as much as possible.

It took four months to convince Nagarjuna to do the villain while Rajini okayed it after first half of narration.

Lokesh Kanagaraj himself said that he is taking Rs 50 crores for the film and he has dedicated over two years for Coolie. He also said that Rajinikanth watched the rough cut and he is extremely satisfied. Speaking about post release, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that he would fly away from the world for three days after the release of Coolie. He also expressed his confidence in impressing the audience. Lokesh Kanagaraj has Khaithi 2, Vikram 2, Rolex and a superhero film with Aamir Khan lined up.

Director Shankar in his speech said that his next is Velpari. So Indian 3 is shelved ?  During his speech in a recent event as chief guest for the novel Velpari, which sold one lakh copies, Shankar said, “ Rajinikanth’s Enthiran was my dream project once. Now, my dream project is Velpari. Whenever a big-budget movie is made, people say it would be a grand venture like Chandralekha, but truly, Velpari will be as big, if not bigger, than that.” He further stated that the film based on Velpari merits to introduce new technologies to Indian cinema which will be on par with the standards of Hollywood biggies like Game of Thrones and Avatar. Velpari is reportedly based on Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Pari, a historical novel penned by Su Venkatesan. The story centres around the mighty ruler Vel Pari and the opposition he faced from the three mighty Tamil dynasties – Chera, Chola, and Pandya.

Superstar Rajinikanth also attended this event as one of the chief guests. He praised Shankar’s impact on the growth of Tamil cinema in the 1990s. He recollected their successful collaborations and revealed that he is eagerly waiting for Shankar’s take on Velpari.

Coolie Overseas Trade Bets HUGE

 Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Coolie has already made headlines by creating history in the overseas market, even before its theatrical release. The North America theatrical rights for Coolie have been acquired by Prathyangira Cinemas for a staggering ₹30 crore, marking the highest-ever deal for a Kollywood film in the region. This surpasses all previous benchmarks, including Jailer, which grossed an impressive $7.2 million and held the title of the top-performing Tamil film in North America.

For Coolie to achieve breakeven, the film now needs to rake in over $7.5 million — a tough milestone, especially with the release of War 2 around the same time. However, trade circles are confident that the combination of Rajinikanth’s u star power and the movies mass appeal will break all the records.

Industry experts believe that Coolie has the potential to become the first Tamil film to cross the $10 million mark in North America, provided it receives strong positive talk after the release. With tremendous hype and solid pre-release business, Coolie is not just a film — it’s an event that could redefine the market for Tamil cinema in the international arena.

All the leading distributors tried to buy the rights, but finally, Hamsini Entertainments bought the overseas rights for an outright and record price of 85 Cr. Rajinikanth’s Coolie overseas final figures result in an industry-wide shock.

The film needs to collect around 25 million to achieve breakeven overseas, and no Kollywood film has collected 25 million till now. 

Cooli is increasing its buzz among fans with continuous updates. Recently, the film’s first single received a big response, and today, the team released the first look of Aamir Khan.

Unlike Vikram, which had one dominant superstar, Coolie features a massive multi-starrer lineup including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Upendra. Balancing such star power while making Aamir’s cameo stand out will be no easy task.

Prithviraj - Kajol Hindi film on July 25 / Dhanush- Kirti Hindi to have Tamil version/ Coolie Audio

 Sarzameen OTT release: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer is set to premiere on OTT platform on July 25. The high-octane action-thriller, directed by Kayoze Irani, the son of Boman Irani, will come directly on OTT without any theatrical release. Detailing the filmmaking experience, Kayoze Irani stated, "Working with phenomenal artists like Prithviraj Sir, Kajol Ma'am, and Ibrahim each of whom brought such emotional depth and honesty to their performances has been nothing short of a privilege...The emotional  battlefield in Sarzameen is just as powerful and consuming as the one unfolding on the frontlines," ANI reported citing press release.

Dhanush is pining his hopes big on his Hindi film Tere Ishk Mein to do the trick at Tamil box office too. For this A Rahman is composing the music with any eye on the Tamil audience too apart from Hindi. As the subject is a love subject and has all ingredients to have a mass appeal , the Kollywood market could be .receptive. Backed by powerhouse producers Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar (T-Series), and Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma (Colour Yellow Productions), Tere Ishk Mein reunites Rai with Dhanush after their celebrated collaboration in Raanjhanaa. The film is set to explore the complexities of love with Rai’s signature storytelling, while marking Kriti Sanon’s first outing with both the director and Dhanush.

According to official updates, Tere Ishk Mein will hit cinemas worldwide in both Hindi and Tamil languages on November 28, 2025, positioning it as one of the most awaited releases of the year.

Dhanush Kuberaa collected ₹48.6 crore during the first weekend. During the first week in theatres, Kuberaa's Telugu variant earned ₹48.7 crore and ₹18.38 crore in Tamil. In Kannada, the movie minted ₹20,00,000, and ₹1.72 crore in Hindi. The movie's Malayalam version failed to earn anything at the box office. After Day 11, the domestic collection stood at Rs 81 crore.

Coolie audio launch in Chennai is set for is said to be happening at Nehru Stadium on 27th July. Also, the team will likely attend events in Telugu and Hindi as well, because the makers aim for pan-India success and big numbers are also involved in business. The Coolie Rights for two Andhra States is bought by Asian Group [Asian Cinemas + Suresh Babu + Dil Raju]. Deal closed at 44 Cr, excluding the GST. This is a very huge price and the 3rd biggest business film in the Telugu States in dubbed films after KGF-2 and 2 Point 0. 

Nag Vamsi who distributed blockbuster Devara after failing to get Coolie Andhra- TS rights has bagged War 2 releasing on same day. It has NTR Jr along with Hrithik Roshan in the lead. Coolie will not feature in IMAX screebs but War 2 will.

Rajinikanth Coolie - The Power House is Hindi Title

 Taking the negative feedback for the Hindi title Majdoor in social media circles and from Rajini fans in North Indian belt, Lokesh and Sun Pictures has decided to rename it as Coolie – The Power House. Amitabh’s Coolie is famous among Hindi viewers and it was during the shoot that Big B got seriously injured, Many felt that Majdoor title gave it a dubbing film feel.

There is another Hindi Mazdoor that had Dilip Kumar- Raj Babbar- Nanda and Rati Agnihotri and directed by Ravi Chopra. Read a few titbits about it:

Mazdoor is the remake of. B.R.Chopra earlier film Naya Daur. Dilip Kumar, Nazir Husein and Johnny Walker were in both films.

After Nikaah Salma Agha was signed for Mazdoor and even recorded one song but left the film before shooting started. Rati Agnihotri replaced her.

Rati Agnihotri was uncomfortable with the gray role where she plays a seductress and wanted to leave the film but Ravi Chopra convinced her otherwise. When the movie was released she walked away with a lot of accolades despite the huge ensemble cast.

There was a story doing the rounds that Dilip Kumar was not interested in the film due to Ravi Chopra's poor box office record. when B. R Chopra offered Dilip Kumar a three film deal he agreed. Ravi Chopra denied the rumours.

While Mazdoor was Nanda's last film interestingly she played Padmini Kolhapure's mother in all three films she had signed during her brief comeback in the 1980's - Ahista Ahista, Prem Rog & Mazdoor.

This was Dilip Kumar and Nanda's only film together. Both were at the peak of their careers in the 1960s but were never paired together in their prime.

Nanda stated she only accepted the film because she wanted to work with Dilip Kumar.

Parts of the film were similar to the English serial Master Of The Game based on Sidney Sheldon's novel. First and last time Music Composer R.D.Burman and Lyricist Hassan Kamal worked together. Mazdoor was one of the last film Characters Actor Nazir Hussain signed.

 

Rajinikanth v/s Aamir Khan highlight of Coolie and not Nagarjuna

Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan cameo ssequence was shot for 10 days and so is this an epic clash between two Superstars ? Aamir Khan is not an actor that any Director would use for just showing his face and not only that he costs a bomb. Aamir said that he did not hear what his role was as it meant working with Rajinikanth.

The source states, “Coolie will feature a power-packed action and confrontation sequence Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan. Known for his perfectionism, Bollywood actor had 10-day shoot schedule for Coolie for the scene that is beyond a mere cameo. The two icons will share screen space in a mass-loaded face-off, filled with intense dialogues, and gripping action.”

Yet another actor appearance in Coolie that is creating heat is that of Nagarjuna. Post Kubera, Nagarjuna’s clout in the viewers has increased and defunct fan clubs have now revived and started to say that it was Naf that saved Kubera in Telugu States and now gain in Coolie, he will do the same.

The music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, and the upbeat first single, Chikitu, has already caught the fancy of many online. With catchy beats and a tribute to Rajinikanth’s fanbase, the song is just the start of the movie’s mass appeal.
With Aamir Khan’s impactful cameo and Rajinikanth leading from the front, Coolie promises to be a full-on entertainer Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is slated to release on August 14, 2025, just in time for the Independence Day weekend. The film itself has been made on a high budget of ₹350 crore and stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj in prominent roles.

Interestingly, while the Tamil version retains the title Coolie, the Hindi version is being called Majadoor, due to title conflicts with previous Bollywood films. Lokesh has also confirmed that Coolie is a standalone project and not a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

Raiinikanth’s Coolie’s stakes are sky-high, and it needs to collect near Jailer’s closing numbers to break even, and even in North India the film’s breakeven will be even more than Jailer’s closing.

Directed by Nelson, Jailer collected 625 Cr gross worldwide in its full run, and that will be the breakeven target for Lokesh’s Coolie.

  Nagarjuna recalled his reaction after reading the script, saying, “I liked it so much that I made Lokesh  come back six to seven times to work out my role! But now, if anyone asked me how my role in Coolie was, I’d answer it with one word: liberating. There was no pressure in how I acted… unlike, say, the character of Deepak that I play in Kuberaa. Deepak has to be a certain way all the time — even the manner in which he drinks a cup of coffee has to be decent. But in Coolie, all of that went out of the window.”

Coolie as Majdoor in Hindi gets BAD RESPONSE / Kayadu Lohar with Tovino STARTS

 

Apart from single release tomorrow, The latest news is that Coolie will have a different title, and it will be released as ‘Majdoor’ in Hindi. Reportedly, the title change in Hindi might be because of rights issues, as Amitabh Bachchan’s old film is also titled Coolie (1983). Also, there are other films like Govinda’s Coolie No. 1 (1995) and Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1 (2020). So, Rajinikanth’s Coolie will have a different title, and it will be released as ‘Majdoor’ in Hindi. The film is slated to be released on August 14, clashing with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2.

The title change was revealed in a recent promo for the song “Chikithu,” which drops on June 25. While Coolie is retained in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, the Hindi promo ends with the surprising new title Majadoor. Social media reacted instantly — and brutally. Fans called the new title “poor,” “bland,” and “outdated,” arguing that Coolie had stronger mass appeal, instant connect, and nostalgic value.
The film also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Bashir, Upendra, and Kaali Venkat, alongside Aamir Khan in a cameo.

After so many speculations, Kayadu Lohar is now at the locales of the Malayalam film starring Tovino Thomas. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film is set in the late 1950s, and it shows the struggles and hopes of migrant farmers living in Kerala’s high-range regions. Dijo Jose took to his Instagram handle to share a snap with the team.

Actress Kayadu Lohar gets very busy in South Indian cinema with continuous offers from Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam after Dragon’s success. Now, Kayadu Lohar teams up with Tovino Thomas for Pallichattambi.

Tovino Thomas, who was recently seen in Narivetta, will work with director Dijo Jose Antony for a big-budget film named Pallichattambi. The film’s shooting began today, June 23.

Kayadu Lohar teams up with Tovino Thomas for Pallichattambi, which is set against the backdrop of 1957–58. It will not be just another period film and tries to depict some intense and unknown battles. 

Director Dijo Jose Antony, known for ‘Queen,’ ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ and ‘Malayalee From India,’ directs this most awaited project of Tovino Thomas. The script is written by Suresh Babu (of ‘Shikkar,’ ‘Oruthee,’ and ‘Dadasaheb’ fame). 

The film will be made on a large scale with a stunning production design, led by renowned art director Dileep Nath. 

Kayadu had acted in Vinayan's notable period film is "Pathonpathaam Noottaandu" (Nineteenth Century), which is a historical drama set in 19th century Kerala. She played a Kalaripayattu exponent in the film.

Udhaynidhi son Joins Kalaignar TV / Coolie to be Lokesh- Aamir film LCU / Jacqueline at Sri Sri Ashram

Inbanidhi, the 21-year-old son of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and grandson of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, formally assumed responsibilities in the management team of Kalaignar TV on 3 June 2025 — the birthday of DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi.

Inbanidhi, who holds a degree in financial management from London, was accompanied by his mother Kiruthiga to the Kalaignar TV office located at the DMK headquarters in Arivalayam.

He was warmly received by Karthikeyan — son of Chief Minister Stalin’s wife Durga’s sister — who currently serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. According to DMK officials, Inbanidhi is involved in financial management and regularly consults with key team members.

Dinamalar reports that Inbanidhi is said to work from 11:00 AM until 5:30 PM each day at the television network’s office in Neelankarai, Chennai.

On the Lokesh- Rajini film Coolie , Tamil Nadu trade is usingThug Life debacle to cut down the price byt Andhra and TS it is different. Despite the release of NTr Jr War 2 a Hindi film dubbed in Telugu as competition, Dil Raju, Asian Sunil, Sithara Naga Vamsi, and Annapurna Studios —the last being owned by Nagarjuna are in the race for distributorship. Nagarjuna who acted in the film joining the race has added more punch as he being an insider knows best. So far the bidding price is Rs 45 crores excluding GST and will touch Rs 50 crores. To get a profit, Coolie must collect Rs 125 crores gross.

Reports are rife that a promo for this T Rajendar, Anirudh sung Coolie first single has been shot, which is expected to be unveiled before the song's release in July, 2025. To the unversed, the multi-faceted T Rajendar is a veteran actor, director, producer, writer, lyricist and singer, best known to the current generation as the father of an equally multi-talented Silambarasan TR. 

Lokesh to Repeat Leo Record with Coolie / Thalapathy could not folllow Kamal's advice

Why Lokesh Kanagaraj will repeat Leo success with Coolie and Rajinikanth ?  Released in 2023, Leo marked the reunion of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay after Master. With crazy hype on the ground, the film clocked a superb 66 crore net at the Indian box office on day 1.  This figure was possible after Leo clocked high figures in two Telugu States as well as in Kerala and Karnataka. Now Coolie will have to play second fiddle to War 2 that has NTR Je with Hrithik. But looks like Coolie is just a rampage in these States after the lukewarm response to War 2.

Coolie has many things going its way. It has many familiar faces, including Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna. And on top of that there is adequate commercial appeal with the massy BGMs and commercial visuals.

As officially announced, Coolie is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025. In a solo release, the film would  definitely bag the biggest opening ever for a Tamil film, as War 2 is a Hindi film dubbed in Telugu – Tamil .  Vijay’s Leo holds the record of the biggest Kollywood opening at the Indian box office with its massive day 1 collection of 60 crore+.  Lokesh will match it or go one step more with Coolie.

But Kamal Haasan also wanted Vijay to make good films like accomplished Hindi film industry actors Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. He further said that Vijay has the potential to do that. By saying that Vijay should make ‘good films’ like Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan might have meant that he should do films that blend quality storytelling with mass appeal.

Interestingly, Kamal Haasan’s remark about Vijay came in the same year when the latter’s film Bairavaa was released in theatres. Although the film received an underwhelming response from several critics, Bairavaa reportedly became Vijay’s fastest film to breach the 100-crore mark at that time (Via Indian Express) Before that, Vijay starred in Atlee’s action thriller Theri, which is regarded as one of the most popular films of his career. Both these Bollywood stars were doing content-oriented films, which did well commercially. Perhaps that’s why Kamal Haasan cited Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as examples and wanted Vijay not to focus solely on mass entertainers. An advice that Thalapathy could not take heed. Rajinikanth tried to kill Gossip journalist reveals Disco Raveendran

 Malayalam- Tamil actor Ravindran known as Disco Ravindran in an interview says that Rajinikanth in his intial days was very depressed and angry. In a fit of rage, he broke a glass door at Chennai airport and was jailed. He said that on sets of Alibaba and Albhuthavilaku, Rajinikanth used to engage in  fights with stunt men who teased him. Ravindran says that Rajinikanth once tried to finish off a journalist who wrote gossip about him by trying to run him over by a car. Ravindran says that Raghavendra Swami made an impression on him and slowly the transition took place to spiritualism. Ravindran said that Rajinikanth and Mohanlal are God’s special child and they cannot be dislodged from the top position.

Nikhila Vimal dance with Dilip creates a storm / Rajini Jailer 2 in Kerala / Mammootty - STR in news

 

Nikhila Vimal ( Kidaari, Thambi, Por Thozil , Vaazhai ) shaking a leg with Dilip at a stage show in Doha, Qatar. Has angered many of her fans and movie goers. In her interviews she comes across as a girl with strong ideals and minces no words. Her family is a leftist one and her father was a Naxalite. Her joing with Dilip an accussed in a the actress assault case has angered many online. Her major role came in Love 24x7 (2015), in which she was paired with Dileep, played the role of Kabini, a trainee reporter, directed by Sreebala K Menon who happened to be an associate director in Bhagyadevatha. Dilip case happened in 2017.

While their video dancing to the song Karthave Nee Kalpichappol from the movie Christian Brothers went viral, it started getting backlash from netizens in no time. Many called out Nikhila for sharing the stage with Dileep, who is among the accused in the Malayalam actor assault case from 2017.

Many took to X and reacted to the video. One user wrote, "This just enraged me in particular because this man is accused of a particularly vile crime." Another one added, "Nikhila Vimal is a thug only in front of nobody interviews. A looking coward and an enabler now, what else?"

Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming sequel action written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and produced by Sun Pictures. MovieCrow learns that the makers are currently planning a shooting schedule in Kerala, where massive sets are in the works of being erected. Jailer 2's Kerala schedule begins on April 10, 2025 at Attappadi. Rajinikanth’s portions for the Kerala schedule are expected to be completed within 15 to 20 days.  (moviecrow)

Dragon fame Director Ashwin is directing STR for AGS Productions. Ashwath Marimuthu (who directed the blockbuster Oh My Kadavule) is gonna and Dragon is to direct Simbu in his third film. AGS will be bankrolling the film and possibly Yuvan Shankar Raja or Anirudh Ashwath is a huge fan of Simbu and he brought back the vintage look of STR.  Adhik Ravichandar and Ashwath Marimuthu bringing the vintage style and image of their idols Ajith and Simbu respectively. Rajinikanth’s Coolie shooting has been wrapped up and producer Sun announced it. Lokesh Kanagaraj took 160 days shooting days so far and it his most number od days that spend on a film till now. The shooting days details of earlier filmss: MaaNagaram: 45 days, Kaithi: 62 days, Master: 130 days, Vikram: 110 days, Leo: 125 days.The shooting started in July 2024 under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj and ended in March 2025. The star-studded cast also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Reba Monica John, Aamir Khan in a cameo role, and Pooja Hegde in a special dance number

Superstar Rajinijanth had begun the shooting of director Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film, 'Coolie', in Hyderabad on July 5, last year. The production house, Sun Pictures, announced the news with a special poster. Shruti Haasan joined the cast and for the first time was sharing screen space with Rajinikanth . Aamir Khan make a special cameo in Coolie, a role insiders describe as pivotal to the film’s storyline. This collaboration between two cinematic legends has been carefully crafted to heighten the film's dramatic intensity and provide audiences with a memorable experience. The two are finally collaborating together 30 years after their last outing 'Aatank Hi Aatank' in 1995.

Aamir Khan and Upendra were seen spending quality time in Jaipur. Aamir Khan also recorded a special video to promote Kannada actor Upendra's upcoming film, Ui - The Movie, Upendra shared the video and wrote, "Dear Aamir sir, it was a dream come true moment to meet and seek your blessings for UI The Warner Movie. thanks for your love and support (sic)."

Interestingly, while the fans believed that 'Coolie' was a part of Lokesh's cinematic universe, he recently revealed that it is a stand-alone film. The director assured his fans that LCU (Lokesh's Cinematic Universe) would have more films, including 'Kaithi 2' and 'Vikram 2', but the Rajinikanth starrer is going to be a special film in its own right. Originally announced as Thalaivar 171 in September 2023, the film was officially titled Coolie in April 2024. Filming began in July 2024, with locations spanning Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok. The movie is expected to hit screens worldwide in 2025 in both standard and IMAX formats.
