Dhanush Hindi trailor with Kantara Chapter 1

Vetrimaaran clarified that his film with Simbu isn’t Vada Chennai 2. During the pre-release event of his next film, Idli Kadai, Dhanush shared a major update about the second installment. He said, “Vada Chennai 2 shooting will begin in 2026. The movie will release in theatres in 2027.”

This massive update is sure to thrill Dhanush fans who have been waiting eagerly for the sequel for a long time. Currently, Dhanush is busy with Idli Kadai promotions. The versatile and award winning actor also has Tere IshK Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai, scheduled for release this year.

Dhanush is ready to captivate audiences with the emotional drama, Idli Kadai, which is set to hit theaters worldwide on October 1st. With just a week to go for its release, the film has wrapped up its censor formalities.

Idli Kadai has been certified with a Clean ‘U’ rating, and its runtime is 2 hours, 27 minutes, and 43 seconds, making it an ideal length for its genre.

Dhanush portrays Murugan in this film, the son of Sivanesan, who has spent his life running a small idli shop in their rural neighborhood. The plot takes an interesting turn when Murugan quits his job as a chef at a prestigious hotel to take over the idli shop in his village.

Raj Kiran, Sathyaraj, Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Samuthirakani, R. Parthiban, and Shalini Pandey star in key roles in Idli Kadai. The film is directed by Dhanush, who also co-produces it alongside Aakash Baskaran under the banners of Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

The team of Dhanush starrer Tere Ishk Mein has a brilliant plan for the teaser’s theatrical release. Starting from October 2, 2025, the teaser for Tere Ishk Mein will be attached to and screened with two of the biggest upcoming movies: Kantara: Chapter 1 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

This is a smart move by the producers, Bhushan Kumar and Aanand L Rai, as it will help them reach a massive audience of “youth and masses” who will be flocking to cinemas for these big releases. It’s a perfect way to announce the arrival of their romantic saga.

The wait is almost over for fans of Dhanush and Aanand L Rai! The hit actor-director duo, who gave us the classic love story Raanjhanaa, are back with their next film, Tere Ishk Mein. This time, the beautiful Kriti Sanon joins the team, and the excitement is sky-high. Now, there’s a big update on the film’s first teaser.

With the film set to release on November 28, 2025, the makers are ready to kick off the promotions. An exclusive source has revealed that the first teaser of Tere Ishk Mein is all set to be launched in the coming week, and it will get a grand release in theatres.

A Musical Teaser Is On Its Way

According to the source, the first look will be a “musical teaser” filled with montages from the film. The main focus of this teaser will be to introduce the audience to the intense and heartwarming chemistry between the two leads, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The film features music by A.R. Rahman and is being viewed by many as a spiritual sequel to the 2013 hit Raanjhanaa. The movie is set for a worldwide theatrical release on November 28, 2025.

Don't get shocked if Idly Kadai does 100 crores in Tamil Nadu

Idli Kadai trailor reminded me of the Malayalam film Usstad Hotel with Dulquer and Thilakan in main roles. Releasing on October1.

Positives:

  • Dhanush is wonderful as Murugan, not just with his look changes, but with his crumbling innocence and classiness that offer warmth. He looks brilliant in the “angry shot.”
  • The casting and predicted characterizations are well-derived and mostly superb on screen. Arun Vijay, as the rich and spoiled antagonist, is striking. Rajkiran is a terrific choice and stands out. Shalini Pandey is a great pick, while Sathyaraj seems a little disappointing, though not necessarily bad.
  • Dhanush the director looks solid, and the making appears apt for the subject. It’s a great genre shift from his previous works and feels emotionally sound.
  • The cinematography is excellent, radiating that earthy rural vibe of simple living, idli stalls, struggle, and charm. The contrast between hand grinding and machinery is well-pictured, and the transformation from a village backdrop to a more corporate one is neatly done. Other production qualities are good too.
  • The concept and ideas that Idli Kadai brings to the table are vintage but nice: legacy vs profit, ethics vs convenience, and family vs ambition. A simple and relatable conflict, which hints at peculiar yet familiar dramas.

Negatives:

  • The story feels extremely template-like and predictable as a whole from watching the trailer. Nothing quite original to witness so far.
  • GV Prakash’s music, despite his past success with Dhanush, is severely underwhelming here. There’s no sense of originality, and it feels like an “input-output” job.
  • Their combination may have greatly worked in Thiruchitrambalam, but here the chemistry between Dhanush and Nithya Menen doesn’t sit right. She seems too old for his character, and the pairing feels tired and forced. Maybe it will click in theaters.
  • The trailer cut could have been sharper and more engaging. It is presented like a saga, but I’m not sure if the film will carry that seriousness based on this glimpse. The dynamics aren’t quite clear either, which does spark some interest.
  • Final Thoughts:

Overall, this is a decent trailer from Mr. D & Co. More than the story, the focus seems to be on lingering emotional connect, which may or may not work in the final cut.

With Thalaivan- Thalaivi a HIt ,Tamil audience tastes show a pattern

Thalaivan Thalaivi achieved break even in day 3 itself

Day 1 - 6 crores

Day 2 - 10 crores

Day 3 - 10 crores

Total - 26 crores in 3 days.

Let’s look at them. See if you can spot a pattern.

1.     Kudumbasthan - A lower-middle-class man fights to pay off debts and rebuild his social life, discovering strength in vulnerability.

2.     Maaman - An uncle-nephew bond is tested when the uncle’s new wife feels sidelined, leading to emotional tension within the family.

3.     Tourist Family - A quirky Sri Lankan immigrant family survives through kindness, slowly transforming the lives of those around them.

4.     3HBK - A middle-class family chases their dream of owning a home in the city, facing setbacks that ultimately bring them closer.

5.     Paranthu Po - A reluctant father and his free-spirited son accidentally go on a road trip, rediscovering their bond and inner peace.

6.     Thalaivan Thalaivi - A turbulent couple confronts their emotional differences, only to build a deeper, more intense relationship through shared struggle.

So what do all these stories have in common?

  • They’re all deeply rooted, and driven purely by content.
  • They don’t rely on massive budgets or huge star casts, instead caring about content and engagement value.
  • They don’t scream to be seen- they invite you in with a strong USP.

All six of these films were highly profitable, despite all of them being flawed (Barring Paranthu Po). They prove one thing clearly:

  • To truly satisfy an audience, you don’t need to commercialize rooted stories.
  • You need emotional value, a fresh-enough script, and a team that cares.

“The more rooted a film is, the further it will reach.”

Each of these films stays within its world and creates something beautiful out of emotional journeys and everyday struggles. After so many larger-than-life tales, it feels refreshing to see characters who may not live like us, but who feel like us. And that emotional connection is everything.

In fact, these kinds of films are now three times more popular than they were just a couple of years ago. Producers denied Oh My Kadavule right away simply because it’s a love story and not an action thriller.

Now do not think that Tamil audience are roting for Family dramas and so start producing family dramas. We have seen family dramas fall by the side in this year itself.

For an action - romance to click root the story in emotion that connect with audience. Keep aside the thought that only if you treat a subject from a commercial angle, will audience watch it.
