Mohanlal with Akshay Kumar- Saif / Dr Rajasekhar in Lubber Pandhu remake

 Director Priyadarshan has dropped a huge confirmation that has fans buzzing: Malayalam cinema’s legendary superstar, Mohanlal, will be making a special cameo appearance in the film Haiwaan.This adds another layer of star power to a project that already features the much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.

While he kept details about the role under wraps, he explained his filmmaking philosophy. “If you’re asking me about Haiwaan, Mohanlal is there in that film. However, what character he plays, I don’t want to say right now,” the director shared. Mohanlal’s cameo is the cherry on top, making the film a true multi-starrer. While Akshay Kumar was last seen in projects like Jolly LLB 3, Saif Ali Khan’s recent work includes Jewel Thief. Mohanlal’s latest film was Hridayapoorvam. Mohanlal reported for Drishyam 3 directed by Jeethu Joseph.

Priyadarshan and Mohanlal’s association is one of the most celebrated partnerships in Malayalam cinema. Their collaborations from the 1980s and 1990s include several defining blockbusters such as Chithram, Vandanam, Kilukkam, Thenmavin Kombath and Chandralekha. The filmmaker was also assistant director on Thiranottam, the unreleased 1978 film that marked Mohanlal’s first appearance on screen. Over the decades, the duo went on to work together in more than 40 films, most recently the 2021 period drama Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea. Priyadarshan had earlier shared that his milestone 100th directorial will once again bring him and Mohanlal together.

Rajasekhar, known for starring in several remakes, is reportedly remaking the Tamil hit Lubber Pandhu in Telugu. The story revolves around rural cricket, with Rajasekhar taking on the role originally played by Dinesh. Supporting roles are being assigned to 35 movie fame Vishwadev Rachakonda, who will reportedly reprise Harish Kalyan’s part from the original. Interestingly, Rajasekhar’s own daughter is set to play the heroine in this

Oppam Hindi - Saif Ali Khan blind and Kalari expert v/s Akshay Kumar

 

• Those who have seen Oppam the Malaylam film directed by Priyadarshan should read this. Others will not understand what is being written here. Report based on  Mid-Day states that Saif Ali Khan will be learning Kalaripayattu for his role in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film "Oppam". He will be taking a two-month break after finishing Rahul Dholakia's movie to attend workshops on how to play a blind man and then travel to Kerala to train in the martial art. The character in the remake is described as a skilled martial artist who is also blind. 
• We think CVN Kalari in Thiruvanthapuram would be right place for Saif to learn.

Now it seems Priyan in his second innings in Bollywood is going to remake Oppam and of course it is Akshay Kumar and with Saif Ali Khan. Both owe a lot to Priyan as in their earlier career stages , it was he who gave them films. Now you may think that Akshay is doing Mohanlal role and Saif the Samudrakanni role. Saif after declaring that his Adipurush outing was a mistake has decided to correct it by playing Lalettan’s role. Akshay’s film after film as a patriotic guy wants to play Samudrakanni role. Remember Robot 2 0 ? . At first Priyan wanted Samudrakanni itself to act in Hindi but Akshay wanted it.

So you imagine them in the respective roles, Now Saif as blind guy and Akshay as bad guy is fixed. Other regulars of Priyan will fill the other roles. You can let the imagination run riot.

Now the biggest surprise is that Saif is learning Kalaripayattu, Kerala’s martial art. So the blind man is going to use Kalaripayattu to fight bad guys. Oppam’s USP was that Lalettan as blind man and his helplessness in fighting those who want to frame him for murder. But in modern Bollywood, Saif is not going to get any sympathy like Lalettan gets from Mallu audience and so he has to fight his way against his enemies and that includes Akshay.  Imagine physical clash between blind man who is Kalari expert and tough guy. Goosebumps ! Even Saif intro can be in a Kalari class. Finally you wonder if Saif is really blind.

Oppam does not have glam element but can Bollywood go without it. So Priyan would elevate the roles of lady SI and also the caretaker role played by Sona Heiden. Even the role played by Meenakshi of the kid that Lalettan carries on his shoulder could be upgraded to a teen girl and a Loverboy wooing her.

• Music played a big role in Oppam’s suucess. Wonder who is doing it as Priyan usually brings guys from Chennai to do it and that too in his Chennai studio.  M G Sreekumar song a must.Brinda Master choreography is inevitable. Priyan has always said that no one in Bollywood can match Lalettan. So no comparisons here. Difficult to get even actors  to replace  Chemban Jose. We are in for exciting times. So far Priyan has been good at remakes and wishing him all luck.

Parsakthi is Rajendran biopic / Ajith is King of Opening / C Sankaran Nair biopic renamed

Parasakthi film directed by Sudha Kongara is based on the Rajendran the student who lost his life during the anti- Hindi agitation in Tamil Nadu during a police firing against the agitators. The DMK government installed a statue of Rajendran in the Annamalai University. Rajendran body was found with bullet in his forehead, He was laid to rest in his village near Coimbatire. Sivakarthikeyan plats Rajendran in the film and like Amaran, this too is a biopic and here too he is a martyr. Who plays Bhaktavasalam is not known. This is second biopic for Sudha after Irudhi Suttru based on Air Deccan founder Gopinath. There was criticism that Sudha had unnecessarily inserted Periyar photo and create a belief that Gopinath is not from Brahmin community, a distortion of fact. Similarly many incidents were added to give it a filmic touch. In Amarn there was a criticism that hero Mukund’s caste being a Brahmin was totally submerged in the narrative. Yet another aspect is that the then Madurai Collector was T N Seshan who took CM Bhaktavalsam orders seriously and gave police the free hand to resort to firing to put down the agitation. Yet another interesting part is that Congress workers surrounded actor S S Rajendran house as it had a black flag flying. To disperse the crowd, Rajendran fired a few shots from his gun. Many political leaders like Vaiko and other DMK leaders will have to feature in the film narration.

Within 24 hrs, more than 44.62 K tickets were booked. We are gonna see why Ajith is called the King Of Opening. Record opening on cards. If the film clicks, this film will become Ajith’s best grosser and would boost his market and Good Bad Ugly’s expectations by the exhibitors.

Biopic of lawyer C Sankaran Nair titled Shankara is now Kesari 2. Film has Akshay Kumar, Aanaya Pandey and R Madhavan and release on March 14th. The film is about a defamation case where Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab and architect of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, sued C Sankaran Nair. This trial was a pivotal moment in India’s fight for justice and serves as the core of the film’s plot. Like Kesari was an emotional action film, was about the sacrifice of Sikhs during the pre-Independence era , Kesaro 2 also deals with the brave Sikh community’s contribution and sacrifice against the British and stars Akshay Kumar, who acted in Kesari. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi in his directorial debut, Kesari Chapter 2 aims to reveal pivotal moment in India’s fight for justice and serves as the core of the film’s plot.
