Shane Nigam’s much-anticipated film 'Soul of Haal' has run into a censorship crisis, with the Censor Board instructing the filmmakers to remove a scene featuring beef biryani and dialogues related to a ceremonial salute. In response, the film’s production team has approached the Kerala High Court, challenging the board’s directive. The board’s objections include the dialogue “Dhwaja Pranama, the team is on guard” and a scene depicting the consumption of beef biryani. These instructions have delayed the issuance of the censor certificate, putting the film’s release on hold. Filmmakers argue that these cuts compromise the narrative and have sought judicial intervention to resolve the issue. Directed by debutant Veer, 'Haal' was originally scheduled to release on September 12, but the date was subsequently postponed.Haal is written by Nishad K. Koya, who is known for scripting Ordinary, Thoppil Joppan, Shikari Shambu and Madhura Naranga. The film, one of the biggest budget projects in Shane Nigam’s career, features Sakshi Vaidya in the female lead role. Sakshi amade her debut with Akhil in Agent with Mammooty in a pivotal role, She also signeda Pawan Kalyan film.

The supporting cast boasts seasoned actors such as Johnny Antony, Nath, Vineeth Beep Kumar, K. Madhupal, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, Joy Mathew, Nishant Sagar, Niyas Becker, Riyas Narmakala, Suresh Krishna, Ravindran, Sohan Seenulal, Manoj K.U., Unniraj, and Sreedhanya, promising a strong ensemble performance. Balachandra Menon is expected to play Oommen Chandy, Nivin Pauly is likely to be cast as Chandy Oommen—the late Congress leader’s son and incumbent MLA representing Puthuppally.Noted director B. Unnikrishnan, who last worked with Mammootty in 'Christopher', is said to be at the helm of the project. According to a report by Manorama News, the film will not be presented as a biopic of Oommen Chandy, who is rated among the most popular politicians in Kerala’s history. Among the details expected to be included in the movie are the various corruption allegations that led to political uproar in the state. Earlier, there were reports that Unnikrishnan was shooting the Secretariat blockade protest organised by the CPI(M)-led LDF workers in 2013. The Opposition workers had surrounded the Kerala Secretariat in August 2013 as a part of the protest against the solar scam—a major political controversy of the time when Oommen Chandy was in power. The longest-serving member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Oommen Chandy passed away in 2023 and his son Chandy Oommen became the new MLA of Puthuppally. Nivin Pauly is expected to portray the 39-year-old's role in the movie. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP and veteran actor Kamal Haasan is reportedly getting ready for a Mollywood return by being part of a rumoured biopic of incumbent Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the Manorama News report said. The way his leadership dealt with the deluge of 2018 and the Covid pandemic will be shown in the movie. A younger Vijayan’s interventions during the 1971 Thalassery riots is also expected to find a place in the film. However, it was not exactly known if Haasan will be seen as Pinarayi Vijayan in the movie which is also expected to release before the southern state goes to polling booths next year. Director Puri Jagannadh expressed grief over the tragic stampede at the Karur rally in Tamil Nadu on Saturday (September 27). He also stated that, owing to the unfortunate incident, Team Puri Sethupathi has postponed the title and teaser launch event planned for Vijay Sethupathi's film.

SK Producers rethink on Budgets / Remembering Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu

 As Madhraasi continues its slide and reaching Rs 100 crore within Tamil Nadu looks impossible. A big drop as Amaran was a Rs 300 cr club film. SK needs to understand that Amaran became a blockbuster not because of him. Excluding Amaran, his market is actually lesser than Dhanush. If Madharaasi fails to beat Kuberaa collections and Idly Kadai beats both Kuberaa and Madharaasi collections, then Dhanush will move to number 5 spot and SK will come down to number 6. SK’s budget range should be 60–80 crores just as Dhanush’s. He can’t move to 165 crores budget within a single blockbuster film. Hopefully Vinayak, VP and Cibi projects, the budgets are controlled.

19 years of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu

 

We say that Vikram is a tribute by Lokesh a fanboy of Kamal . However the only film which one can call as the extraordinary fanboy sambhavam is Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu . . This came just one year after the flop of Mumbai Xpress (Highly underrated), and became one of the biggest modern sensations and comebacks for a Tier 1 star.

SO  much has been  said about the film’s gorgeous content and scene executions, but the  highlight is the beautifully natural work chemistry between director Goutham Menon and actor Kamal Haasan, which shaped the unforgettable scenes we see today.

The best example of this is the iconic Villain Base Infiltration Intro, where Kamal stares into the soul of the villain and asks, “En Kannu Venunnu Kettiya?”  This is really how a fanboy should actually treat his idol

The magical part of this sequence, beyond the execution and cracking performance, is that it was purely improvised. Kamal and GVM approached this film in a way where they discovered it together, scene by scene. And when it came to this particular moment, the entire crew was stunned by Kamal’s complete improv of both dialogues and mannerisms. You can even see the camera adjust at the last second to zoom in on Kamal’s eye.

Through classy direction, brilliant performances, outstanding songs, and- tying it all together- a rock solid script, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu stands as a timeless piece in the stellar decade of Tamil films.

This is one bloody movie which I envy as a Rajini fan! I need a movie like this with the Superstar in a suave detective role and a crime mystery thriller. Vettaiyan could have been that but it took a different path.

The latest buzz is that the Fahadh Faasil  will work with Prem Kumar, the Meiyazhagan director. 

The 96 director revealed his next film’s details in a recent interview. “I will be working on my next movie with Fahadh Faasil. It’s going to be a thrilling action flick, but it’ll still have that emotional depth I love. I told Fafa a story for 45 minutes, and he really enjoyed it. This is a straight-up Tamil movie, and they start shooting in January.”

Lokesh next Arun Direction and Kaithi 2 - Rajini- Kamal Distant One

 

We hear that that Lokesh will wrap Arun's film with Vasanth Ravi before starting production on his next directorial venture, Kaithi 2, starring Karthi. Kaithi 2, Only after that  is Lokesh next project with  Rajini- Kamal project, if everything falls in place . . Kaithi is delayed and not for the Rajini- Kamal project but Lokesh after negative feedback post Coolie is out, he feels that the expectations from him are higher and viewers are expecting a bigger one from the Kaithi sequel . Post Coolie, Lokesh has to deliver with Kaithi sequel.

The fifth installment of the LCU, after BENZ. The film is co-produced by KVN Productions and and Dream Warrior Pictures.

The film revolves around the ego clash between Dilli (Karthi) and Rolex (Suriya), which is narrated in a non-linear screenplay. Kamal Haasan also plays a role in the film, with Vijay playing a cameo. This film is the one that begins the present plot of the universe.

Shoot begins from December  2025, and will be shot on a 200–250 crore budget. Will continue until the end of the year. They will be taking loads of time with post-production and fine tuning, so the film will only be releasing late 2027.

As elections are fast approaching, Red Giant would not commit any huge investment till May next year. RKFI of Kamal is all set to go ahead with Anbu Arivu directorial. Despite bad word of mouth, Coolie collecting so much shows his good will, Rajini post Coolie has shown as a weak draw in Tamil Nadu. Indian 2 figures does not help Kamal either. Coolie has shown that Rajini’s draw in Tamil Nadu is not big as Vijay.

Primarily, Rajini- Kamal film has to collect from Tamil Nadu and after paying both heroes the market price and production costs, recovery at box office is near impossible task. Only if both heroes join as partners, can the Rajini- Kamal film take off. The project can take off when Jailer 2 and Anbu Arivu projects are blockbusters and Kaithi 2 brings back Lokesh.

3. Lokesh Kanagaraj & Sun Pictures - The biggest action fantasy in Tamil Cinema, fully shot in IMAX. The film was going to happen before Coolie, but due to time constraints they decided to do it after Lokesh completes his LCU.
4. H Vinoth - During Jana Nayagan shoot Vinoth narrated an action thriller to Thalaivar who loved it and asked to develop it. Will happen after Vinoth’s project with Dhanush.
5. Mari Selvaraj - Was going to take off post Karnan, but Mari wanted to begin his period magnum opus with Dhanush first before this one- which Rajini said okay to. That project after many delays and producer changes is starting early next year, so if that film even breaks even then this film will happen right after. A rural political action film- one of the best scripts narrated to Thalaivar in a long time said by himself.

Lokesh Kanagaraj & RKFI - Staged to be one of the final projects of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, both of them have agreed to act in a violent gangster drama revolving around two aged sons overseeing and navigating their vast empire.  Singer Chinmayo first apperance in a Malaylam TV show is scheduled for Saturday on Asianet reality show Star Singer with K S Chitra as the Chief Judge. The promo shows the singer mentioning about the time when she felt it was end of her career and objection to giving the ONV award. Following the film's failure, it is now streaming on OTT earlier than expected. Although several films follow an 8-week window between theatrical and OTT release, Netflix appears to have changed the norm for Thug Life. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
