Dhanush Idly Kadai sales dips as Kantara Roars
IDLY KADAI ; Worth a Watch / Suriya New Production house
Non spoiler review:
First half was really good. Emotional and rural connect really worked. A couple of scenes involving the calf and idly shop worked brilliantly. Even the songs were very well woven into the film. Father-son-Idly Kadai bond was extremely moving. Interval setup was pakka for 2nd half.
Instead of building on the emotional drama the first half built, it moves into familiar hero vs villain territory. It gets generic but a few writing touches involving Parthiban’s character, villagers unity work well. Climax was a fun touch.
Overall, a pretty simple yet solid feel-good drama which slides into generic action territory but solid acting, music and production values enhance the film. A refreshing breath of air amidst all the loud action movies.
TL;DR: Brilliant first half but second half is a bit generic and repetitive and loses steam before picking up in pre climax and ends on a fun note

It looks like Suriya's 2D Entertainment Production House will be for works of his actor's daughter and probably Bollywood films, he will launch on Ayudha Puja Day a new production company and first will be Malayalam film Romancham fae Jithu directing him. Suriya plays a quirky cop and probably Nazirya for company.

The star is now acting in a movie directed by Venky Atluri, who recently delivered the superhit Lucky Baskhar. Apart from it, Suriya also has a film titled Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, and it will be released next year.
Many are aware that Suriya owns a production house named ‘2D Entertainment.’ The latest buzz in Kollywood circles suggests that Suriya will soon launch a new banner, ‘Zhagaram.’ The National Award-winning actor has already agreed to do his 47th film with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan.
Tentatively titled #Suriya47, the project will reportedly be the first film to be produced by Zhagaram. Further, it is said that Pa Ranjith will likely direct a movie under the new banner, with discussions underway. An official announcement is awaited.
Dhanush Hindi trailor with Kantara Chapter 1
Vetrimaaran clarified that his film with Simbu isn’t Vada Chennai 2. During the pre-release event of his next film, Idli Kadai, Dhanush shared a major update about the second installment. He said, “Vada Chennai 2 shooting will begin in 2026. The movie will release in theatres in 2027.”

Don't get shocked if Idly Kadai does 100 crores in Tamil Nadu
Idli Kadai trailor reminded me of the Malayalam film Usstad Hotel with Dulquer and Thilakan in main roles. Releasing on October1.
Positives:
- Dhanush is wonderful as Murugan, not just with his look changes, but with his crumbling innocence and classiness that offer warmth. He looks brilliant in the “angry shot.”
- The casting and predicted characterizations are well-derived and mostly superb on screen. Arun Vijay, as the rich and spoiled antagonist, is striking. Rajkiran is a terrific choice and stands out. Shalini Pandey is a great pick, while Sathyaraj seems a little disappointing, though not necessarily bad.
- Dhanush the director looks solid, and the making appears apt for the subject. It’s a great genre shift from his previous works and feels emotionally sound.
- The cinematography is excellent, radiating that earthy rural vibe of simple living, idli stalls, struggle, and charm. The contrast between hand grinding and machinery is well-pictured, and the transformation from a village backdrop to a more corporate one is neatly done. Other production qualities are good too.
- The concept and ideas that Idli Kadai brings to the table are vintage but nice: legacy vs profit, ethics vs convenience, and family vs ambition. A simple and relatable conflict, which hints at peculiar yet familiar dramas.
Negatives:
- The story feels extremely template-like and predictable as a whole from watching the trailer. Nothing quite original to witness so far.
- GV Prakash’s music, despite his past success with Dhanush, is severely underwhelming here. There’s no sense of originality, and it feels like an “input-output” job.
- Their combination may have greatly worked in Thiruchitrambalam, but here the chemistry between Dhanush and Nithya Menen doesn’t sit right. She seems too old for his character, and the pairing feels tired and forced. Maybe it will click in theaters.
- The trailer cut could have been sharper and more engaging. It is presented like a saga, but I’m not sure if the film will carry that seriousness based on this glimpse. The dynamics aren’t quite clear either, which does spark some interest.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this is a decent trailer from Mr. D & Co. More than the story, the focus seems to be on lingering emotional connect, which may or may not work in the final cut.

has pulled out Karuppu from Pongal race. After
making her Sankranti ( Pongal in Andhra) entry in 2024 with “Guntur Kaaram”,
Sreeleela is all set to return to the festive race, this time with a Tamil
film. Her Tamil debut, “Parasakthi”, has officially joined the Pongal 2026
lineup, aiming to make an impact during the lucrative festival season. Parasakthi”
stars popular Tamil actor Shivakartikeyan in the lead role and is directed by
acclaimed filmmaker Sudha Kongara. Scheduled for release on January 14, 2026,
the film is a period drama in which Sreeleela plays the role of a student,
marking a significant departure from her previous roles.
While her
first Sankranti attempt with “Guntur Kaaram” did not translate into major
success, industry watchers are curious to see if Sreeleela can shine this time
in the Tamil market, especially during the high-profile Pongal season. Currently,
Sreeleela has several projects in the pipeline, including the Telugu action
entertainer “Mass Jathara”, a Bollywood film opposite Kartik Aaryan, and the
highly anticipated Pawan Kalyan-starrer “Ustaad Bhagat Singh”.

The movie
set in Bengali where Goddess Kali is worshipped is titled Mahakali, and this
which marks first Indian female superhero film will be helmed by a lady
director Puja Aparna Kolluru.
India’s
leading distribution company RKD Studios is venturing into production with this
movie to be mounted on a large canvas with a big budget and lavish technical
standards. The film written by Prasanth Varma will be produced by Riwaz Ramesh
Duggal on RKD Studios and presented by RK Duggal.
The title
poster sees a cozy moment between the girl and the tiger. It also sees circus
set-up in the background, and crowd is fleeing as the giant wheel is set on
fire. Like in HanuMan, there is a special object that can be observed in the
title logo of Mahakali. Mahakali will be released in all
Indian languages and also foreign languages in 3D IMAX format. Smaran Sai
scores the music, while Sri Nagendra Tangalla is the production designer. The
film’s lead cast and other technicians will be revealed later.
Is Dhanush- Mrunal Thakur romance just a media
creation ? Why we feel so is that Venkar Prabhu is said to have approached
Mrunal for his next film with Sivakarthikeyan. We all know that SK has lot of
grudges against Dhanush and the latter too on SK. One being that Dhanush tried
to keep SK under his thumb as a mentor by dictating which films to do and the
latter that he went out of the way with SK to promote him at the start of the

Dhanush- Mrunal Thakur dating gets UPGRADED - SISTERS OK IT

After Valli, Rajini's Coolie gets A Certificate / Dhanush Fans happy with AI Ending
Unusual for Rajinikanth, who boasts a fan following across age categories, his upcoming action entertainer Coolie has obtained an A certificate after clearing the censorship formalities. Valli was also certified 'A' but Superstar played only guest role in it. Is #Coolie the first full length Rajinikanth film to get 'A' certificate?
With this
announcement, Coolie will be the first Rajini film in
years to get an A certificate. It is worth noting that the film's director,
Lokesh Kanagaraj, had said there won't be any compromises on violence and
action in the film.
Produced by
Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie boasts
a star-studded ensemble consisting of Nagarjuna as Simon, Sathyaraj as

Coolie Trailor to please Hindi Audience - Vivek film in limbo / Dhanush Kuberaa globally trending
On August 1` the trailor of Coolie is coming out and this is only to please PEN the Hindi distributor. Lokesh wanted to skip a trailor as he felt it could either give away the plot or could send wrong expectations. Instead he wanted only a promo of 15 seconds released in intervals. PEN felt otherwise as Bollywood promotions thrive on trailors and they have a selfish reason for it, They want Aamir Khan in it. Non Tamil actors apart from Nagarjuna who is main villain, has Upendra-Shoubin. Aamir has close to `15 minutes screen time. Finally a trailor is ready.
Rajini is yet to take call on Vivek Athreya movie. It is very
tempting but he is getting pressure from certain people no tto accept Mythri or
Telugu director. Mythri is terribly pissed off with Vignesh Sivan for
postponing LIK to Feb 2026 . Mythri planned Dude for Feb 2026 now will be

Prithviraj - Kajol Hindi film on July 25 / Dhanush- Kirti Hindi to have Tamil version/ Coolie Audio
Sarzameen OTT release: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer is set to premiere on OTT platform on July 25. The high-octane action-thriller, directed by Kayoze Irani, the son of Boman Irani, will come directly on OTT without any theatrical release. Dhanush is pining his hopes big on his Hindi film Tere

official updates, Tere Ishk Mein will hit cinemas worldwide in both Hindi and
Tamil languages on November 28, 2025, positioning it as one of the most awaited
releases of the year.
Dhanush Kuberaa
collected ₹48.6 crore during the first weekend. During the first week in
theatres, Kuberaa's Telugu variant earned ₹48.7 crore and ₹18.38 crore in
Tamil. In Kannada, the movie minted ₹20,00,000, and ₹1.72 crore in Hindi. The
movie's Malayalam version failed to earn anything at the box office. After Day
11, the domestic collection stood at Rs 81 crore.
Coolie audio
launch in Chennai is set for is said to be happening at Nehru Stadium on 27th
July. Also, the team will likely attend events in Telugu and Hindi as well,
because the makers aim for pan-India success and big numbers are also involved
in business. The Coolie Rights for two Andhra States is bought by Asian Group [Asian
Cinemas + Suresh Babu + Dil Raju]. Deal closed at

Nag Vamsi who
distributed blockbuster Devara after failing to get Coolie Andhra- TS rights
has bagged War 2 releasing on same day. It has NTR Jr along with Hrithik Roshan
in the lead. Coolie will not feature in IMAX screebs but War 2 will.
Dhanush own voice for Kuberaa Telugu - Tamil average Box office / Only Ranveer as Shathimaan
Sir/Vaathi was the first bilingual actor of Dhanush, and he once again acted in a bilingual movie, Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula with Nagarjuna in a crucial role. Though the film received superb collections, Kuberaa’s Tamil version underperformed at the box office.
Rarely do we see day 2 being bigger than
the opening day for a film, but Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa achieved it. The film
sold 328K tickets on the BookMyShow ticketing app on the opening day, and it
sold 339K tickets on the second day.
Overall, the day 2 collections of the film are 10% higher
than the opening day. But the only concern for the film is the Tamil version’s
box office performance. The film has to witness a 30-40% jump from day 1, as it
received an average start.
However, the day 2 and day 3 jump for the Tamil version is
minimal, and it is not happening in the expected range. So, despite having a
superb weekend in theaters, Kuberaa’s Tamil version underperformed at the box
office.
If the film sees good collections in Tamil like Telugu, then
the weekend could have been much bigger. The trade expected a 50-50
contribution from Tamil and Telugu at the box office.
But as far as 2-day collections are concerned, 70% of the
numbers are coming from Telugu and 30% from Tamil.
Talented filmmaker who has been behind Minnal Murali and
Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, Basil Joseph, is going to make this Indian Superhero
film as per reports. And it seems that perhaps his favourite choice for the
lead role Shaktimaan is none other than Ranveer Singh.
However, it cannot be forgotten that the OG Shaktimaan,
Mukesh Khanna, took the media by a frenzy in his outrage against Ranveer being
cast as Shaktimaan. This brought a lot of shame for Ranveer who then decided to
part ways with the film for the time being and focus on more promising projects
like Don 3. Recently, reports from his team stated that he won’t be producing
Shaktimaan as he is busy with Dhurandhar and Don 3. There were reports that
Allu Arjun will take over this role and his fans were elated with this
prospect.
But Basil has now stated that “No one else is doing Shaktimaan. It is Ranveer
Singh and no one else.” Amidst all this confusion, fans and experts are saying
Ranveer should stay away from this project as it is too controversial and looks
like it lacks potential. Clarifications and updates are awaited from Ranveer’s
end, even his well wishers don’t want him to associate with such a film.

Parasakthi ; Fresh SK v/s Sudha / Ravi Mohan Producer / Kubera Pre Release Profit
Latest buzz on Parasakthi is that SK ( Sivakarthikeyan ) has asked Director Sudha Kongara to cut some scenes shot with Ravi Mohan. These scenes are likely to make Ravi Mohan overshadow SK. Sudha has not obliged and so Producer Akash Bhaskaran is put on the job. Meanwhile an official communication about Ravi Mohan Production;
One of Tamil cinema’s leading stars, Ravi Mohan, will headline the new film
BroCode, playing a pivotal protagonist role. The film marks his debut as a
producer.
Directed by Karthik Yogi, known for films like Dikkiloona and Vadakkupatti
Ramasamy, BroCode will feature Ravi Mohan in the lead role. Acclaimed actor
S.J. Suryah also plays a significant character in the film, alongside four
leading female actors.
Cinematography is by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, known for his work in Por Thozhil. The
music is composed by Harshavardhan, the composer behind hits like Animal and
Arjun Reddy. Editing will be handled by Pradeep E. Raghav, and art direction is
by A. Rajesh.
Promised as a fun-filled entertainer with elements of slapstick comedy, the
film is being produced under the banner Ravi Mohan Studios by actor Ravi Mohan
himself.
Speaking about the project, director Karthik Yogi said:
“When I narrated the story to Ravi Mohan, he thoroughly enjoyed it and
immediately came forward to produce it. The film features scenes rich in
slapstick humor and is designed to offer a unique cinematic experience to the
audience.”
The official announcement regarding the four leading female actors will be made
soon, and the film’s shoot is scheduled to commence in September, according to
the production team.
Meanwhile, Ravi Mohan is also acting in Parasakthi directed by Sudha Kongara
and Karate Babu directed by Ganesh K. Babu.

Dhanush slams Nayanthara - Vignesh at Kuberaa audio launch / Thug Life Tamil Nadu- North America opening
At the Kuberaa audio launch, Dhanush speech aimed at his enimies has termed as the warning to Nayanthara and Vignesh Raja with whom he is fighting a legal battle over copyright issues over a NetFlix documentary.
Dhanush said

the themes of power and wealth, following the journey of Dhanush’s character, a

leader.
Nagarjuna
takes on a, complex role in the film, while Rashmika portrays a woman yearning

launch of director Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa took
place in Chennai on June 1. The event was a star studded affair with Dhanush, Akkineni
Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna in

June 1, Thug Life‘s Day 1 pre-sales in Tamil Nadu were ₹1.90 crore,
with sales of 110,000 tickets, amounting to 985 shows across Tamil Nadu. With
anticipation building in the lead-up to its June 5 theatrical release, we
expect ticket sales to increase significantly in the last three days. In
comparison Leo collected Rs 6,17 crores from Chenai alone.
The
Premieres have already crossed $300K and will cross the Million dollar mark at
this pace. Thug Life is also likely to cross Ponniyin Selvan’s premiere record
of $1.1M becoming the third biggest opener for Kollywood after Kabali and Leo.
Thug Life will be released in five
languages — Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada — and will also take
on Sajid
Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5 in the Hindi-speaking belt. While
both films target different audiences, the box office clash will keep people
looking.
Thug Life will open on over 1,800 screens
across the country, with Tamil Nadu leading most of the core business. Thug
Life is set to release on June 5.
