Nayanthara says she is only on INSTAGRAM / Kavin in Two Big Ticket Films

 In an exclusive chat with Zoom, Nayanthara's team spoke to us about her social media presence. On being asked if Nayanthara has an account on X (formerly known as Twitter), they responded "No she does not. Nayanthara has only one social media account, and that is Instagram." Nayanthara currently has 10 million followers Instagram. On her official Instagram page, Nayanthara posts pictures of her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, and her twin sons Uyir and Ulag. The images she posts are usually from special occasions, festivals and their exotic vacations.

An account which has 3.30 million followers on X, under the username NayantharaU is operational with a verified tick, however, it is a fan account dedicated to her. It is not her official account.

About Nayanthara's upcoming films

Bearing her Netflix documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, Nayanthara didn't appear in any feature films last year. In 2025, Nayanthara started her year with Test which released directly on Netflix. She has an incredible lineup of a minimum of 7 movies to her filmography in the coming months

She will be a part of Patriot, Mahesh Narayanan's film, headlined by Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty. It also stars Fahadh Faasil. She is also busy working on Toxic, starring Yash in the lead, it is directed by Geethu Mohandas. She will also work with Chiranjeevi and Anil Ravipudi currently known as Mega 157. She also plays the lead in the Rs 100 crore film with Sundar C titled Mookuthi Amman.

Apart from that, Nayanthara's films include Mannangatti Since 1960, the Malayalam film Dear Students starring Nivin Pauly, Rakkaiye and Vishnu Edavan's film.

Kavin teams up for the new film with Priyanka Mohan. It was launched with a pooja ceremony in Chennai. The film, tentatively called Kavin 09, is directed by Ken Royson, best known for helming the 2024 web series Kana Kaanum Kaalangal and the music video of singer-composer Sai Abhyankkar’s hit indie track Katchi Sera.

Kavin 09 is a fantasy romantic comedy, the upcoming film will have music scored by acclaimed rapper-composer OfRo. Details regarding the cast and crew of the film will be revealed soon, revealed the makers. Swaroop Reddy is producing under the Think Studios banner.

Just two days ago, Kavin teamed up with director Ram Sangiah, who made a debut with 2023’s Thandatti. The film's shoot is expected to begin soon, the film is produced by S Lakshman Kumar. More details about the cast, crew and other details are yet to be announced. Prince Pictures has previously backed several films including Singam 2, Dev, Sardar, Kaari, Run Baby Run, Lubber Pandhu and upcoming films Mr X, Mannangatti since 1960 and Sardar 2. Meanwhile, Kavin, last seen in Bloody Beggar, he also stars in Kiss, co-starring Preethi Asrani, Mask, co-starring Andrea Jeremiah, and an untitled film with Nayanthara in different stages of production.

 

 

RAJINIKANTH - FUTURE PROJECTS - DREAM COMBOS IN KITTY

 Below is the list of films that Thalaivar has okayed and Of these H Vinoth, Mari Selvaraj and Vetrimaaran have not been confirmed with any production House. The order may change.

1. 
   Vivek Athreya & Mythiri Movie Makers - A commercial Mumbai gangster film. Most likely will be Thalaivar’s next film, followed by his few month break to begin writing his autobiography 
2. Nithilan Swaminathan & Red Giant - That’s right after Nithilan completes another film post Maharaja (Likely with Vijay Sethupathy), he will be teaming up with Thalaivar for a gritty drama. This will be out of his zone completely, and features a beautiful non-linear narration.
3. Lokesh Kanagaraj & Sun Pictures - The biggest action fantasy in Tamil Cinema, fully shot in IMAX. The film was going to happen before Coolie, but due to time constraints they decided to do it after Lokesh completes his LCU.
4. H Vinoth - During Jana Nayagan shoot Vinoth narrated an action thriller to Thalaivar who loved it and asked to develop it. Will happen after Vinoth’s project with Dhanush.
5. Mari Selvaraj - Was going to take off post Karnan, but Mari wanted to begin his period magnum opus with Dhanush first before this one- which Rajini said okay to. That project after many delays and producer changes is starting early next year, so if that film even breaks even then this film will happen right after. A rural political action film- one of the best scripts narrated to Thalaivar in a long time said by himself.
6. Lokesh Kanagaraj & RKFI - Staged to be one of the final projects of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, both of them have agreed to act in a violent gangster drama revolving around two aged sons overseeing and navigating their vast empire. One of Lokesh’s dream projects. They have worked together in 21 films in 5 Languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.It includes 3 Bi-lingual Thappu Thalangal (Tamil - Kannada), Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum (Tamil - Malayalam) and Ninaithale Inikkum (Tamil - Telugu)..Balachander has directed both of them in 7 films Apoorva Raagangal, Anthuleni Katha, Moondru Mudichu,Avargal, Thappu Thalangal, Ninaithale Inikkum and Thillu Mullu.Sripriya acted in 6 films which starred both Kamal and Rajini. 8. . Karthik Subbaraj & Sun Pictures - During Jigarthandha Double X days he narrated a script to Thalaivar which he liked a lot and asked to develop. This is not the same script or similar as Retro it’s a different grey shaded film on the lines of Iraivi.
9. Vetrimaaran - During Viduthalai time he narrated a script which Thalaivar liked and he asked to develop it. Not green-lit yet but in talks. A gritty rural gangster drama.

Rajinikanth Fans worried over Thalapathi comparison / PLOT and Salary

 A recent comment from Rajinikanth, shared by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself, has left fans feeling uneasy. According to the director, Rajini watched Coolie, hugged him, and said, “It looked like Thalapathi to me.”. For one Thalapthi is an iconic movie but not a blockbuster HIT. After Kamal Haasan saying that Thug Life reminded him of Nayakan, audience expected a similar high emotion charged film but was disappointed.. Rajinikanth fans are asking their idol to be cautious with such comparisons. They feel that emotional or exaggerated statements before release can create unnecessary pressure and expectations, Here a collage of Lokesh on Coolie :

Rajinikanth plays an aged grey shaded Coolie with a violent past, and is somehow connected to the massive gold smuggling operations happening in the harbor by major big wigs (Lead by Nagarjuna).

Lokesh Kanagaraj stated that this is his attempt in showing Rajinikanth in a darker and more villainous shade, but in the positive note of Thalapathi.

• Lokesh initially wrote a proper action fantasy for Rajinikanth, which is shot with IMAX cameras and is the biggest budget Tamil film. But the project took too long to materialize after Rajini immediately agreed, so they decided to do it after some time- but the project is on with Sun Pictures.
• Every day on set there were 700–1000 people working on set, and it’s that kind of massive film which talks about the truths of harbor politics and gangsterism.
• It’s been 4 months since shoot ended, and because Lokesh misses Rajinikanth dearly, he visits the shoot of Jailer 2 as much as possible.

It took four months to convince Nagarjuna to do the villain while Rajini okayed it after first half of narration.

Lokesh Kanagaraj himself said that he is taking Rs 50 crores for the film and he has dedicated over two years for Coolie. He also said that Rajinikanth watched the rough cut and he is extremely satisfied. Speaking about post release, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that he would fly away from the world for three days after the release of Coolie. He also expressed his confidence in impressing the audience. Lokesh Kanagaraj has Khaithi 2, Vikram 2, Rolex and a superhero film with Aamir Khan lined up.

What went wrong with Stunts at Pa Ranjith film ?

 Renowned stuntman Raju lost his life while executing a perilous car stunt on the set of an upcoming Tamil film by Pa Ranjith and featuring Arya. The incident took place on July 13 during the filming of a high-risk car sequence in Vettuvam, leaving the Tamil film industry in disbelief.

Raju was performing a car-toppling stunt involving an SUV. The vehicle was intended to launch off a ramp, but it lost balance mid-air and crashed heavily on its front end. Footage from the set, now circulating online, captures the distressing moment of impact and the immediate rescue efforts. Raju was extracted from the severely damaged vehicle and rushed to an ambulance, but sadly, he could not be saved.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, President of the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), has vehemently condemned this tragic incident and made an urgent appeal to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. K. Stalin.

1. Immediate registration of an FIR against producer Pa. Ranjith, all co-producers, and Neelam Productions under relevant sections for criminal negligence leading to death.

2. A compensation of ₹1 Crore to be paid to the family of the deceased stuntman Mohanraj by the producers.

3. A state-wide investigation and audit of all film shooting sets across Tamil Nadu, to identify unsafe sets and take strict action against producers who fail to adhere to safety norms.

Vishal mourns demise of Raju

Actor Vishal, who had worked with Raju on multiple films, took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the news and pay his respects. He expressed his profound sorrow, remembering Raju as a courageous and committed stunt performer. “I have known Raju for so many years. He has performed countless risky stunts in my films. My deepest condolences to his family. I promise to support them,” he wrote.

Raju had established a strong reputation in Kollywood over the years, recognized for his fearless execution of some of the most challenging stunts in Tamil cinema. His dedication and skill earned him great respect among his colleagues.

As of now, neither actor Arya nor director Pa Ranjith has issued an official statement regarding the tragedy.

During filming of Vetrimaaran Vidhuthalai a stunt man diied after the rope that was holding him snapped and he fell 20 ft and died. The use of human beings inside the car has shocked viewers. Stunt men who spoke about the incident say that it is not a risky one that results in deaths but here the timing went wrong but still the stunt man death they feel could be that the vehicle used was not properly reinforced for stunts. The vehicle front caved in from the fall. Injuries or bruises are expected and an ambulance with emergency kit was kept ready.Raju had worked with Prithiviraj for Empuran.

Sivakarthikeyan- Venkat Prabhu Final / Romeo Raahul to Produce Ajith next

Venkat Prabhu joins hands with Sivakarthikeyan for his next film. Production will be handled by Sathya Jyothi Films, and the film’s music will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The film’s shoot is expected to begin this October. The rest of the cast details are yet to be determined.This marks their first full-fledged project after Sivakarthikeyan's cameo in 'The Greatest of All Time. ' Kalyani Priyadarshan and Gayathrie Shankar are in talks for the two female lead roles.

Siva Karthikeyan has two films set for release this year. One is Madharaas, arriving on 5th September, and the other one is Parasakthi, arriving on Pongal 2026. Cibi Chakravarthy and Vinayak Chandrasekharan were in line to direct SK.

 Sivaji Productions has backed out from Producing Ajith Kumar;s next by Adhik Ravichandran. The circle has come a full with Raahul of Romeo Pictures taking up the project. He is behind the runaway hit Paranthu Po directed by Ram.

This would mark Raahul's first time as a full-fledged producer for an Ajith film, after previously serving as executive producer and distributor for several of his movies. Raahul, who heads Romeo Pictures, has a strong association with Ajith Kumar and has been involved in various capacities, including as executive producer for "Vivegam" and "Viswasam" and as a distributor for his recent films like "Valimai", "Thunivu", and the 2025 blockbuster "Good Bad Ugly".

• This move signifies a progression in Raahul's relationship with Ajith, moving from distribution and executive production to full-fledged production.

Director Shankar in his speech said that his next is Velpari. So Indian 3 is shelved ?  During his speech in a recent event as chief guest for the novel Velpari, which sold one lakh copies, Shankar said, “ Rajinikanth’s Enthiran was my dream project once. Now, my dream project is Velpari. Whenever a big-budget movie is made, people say it would be a grand venture like Chandralekha, but truly, Velpari will be as big, if not bigger, than that.” He further stated that the film based on Velpari merits to introduce new technologies to Indian cinema which will be on par with the standards of Hollywood biggies like Game of Thrones and Avatar. Velpari is reportedly based on Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Pari, a historical novel penned by Su Venkatesan. All of the Vada Chennai primary actors except Dhanush are in this film, and a major Kannada actor is set to play a role as well.

Now coming to the story itself. It is a court room gangster drama. Simbu has two get ups (Bearded and younger), and they are shooting for the younger bits today for the promo.

Vetrimaaran and Dhanush reached a compromise and the project is ready to go. The promo video will be released on July 14 which is when the shoot starts. They are trying for a Christmas 2025 release

Suriya45 - Karrupu - RJB & DWP

No changes in the release date, Diwali 2025 is locked. The film is an out and out commercial film with a strong fantasy and spiritual element. Suriya dons a few get ups in this film.

Suriya46 - Venky Atluri & Naga Vamshi

This film is a family drama which centers around a rich tycoon who falls in love with a simple girl and both of them trying to convince each others’ families for marriage is the core.

There’s a chance that the film is called Vishwanathan & Sons. They are trying for that kind of a classy family name.

Shooting has already started, 30% done, and it will end by October. Very simple and straight forward film- April/May 2026 release.

Suriya47 - Jithu Mahadevan

Suriya will be playing a rowdy and eccentric cop in this film, along the energy of Fahad in Aavesham.

Shooting will begin from November second week, likely will release in first week of September 2026.

Suriya48 - Vaadivaasal - Vetri & Thanu

Here we are with the delayed but most anticipated Vaadivaasal.

Well the animatronics for the bulls are set to be completed in December which is when the pre-production will begin. So they will begin this film from around March-April and complete it by July-August.

The release date depends on the post-production. If all goes well then it will release early 2027.

Suriya49 - Anwar Rasheed

A very ambitious and peculiar genre project planned which will be done from October-November and will finish in January 2027. Will release likely in May or June that year.

Will be a very different genre for Suriya, but the film is still in talks though Suriya likes it a lot. 75% chance if this one happening currently.

Suriya50 - Rolex - Lokesh Kanagaraj

Early in discussions but this milestone timing is something Suriya and Lokesh are very keen in.

The concept revolves around the rise and fall of Rolex (Leading up to Vikram climax), and his journey and clashes with the other LCU characters of his past.

Lokesh will come to this project after he finishes Kaithi 2 and the project with Aamir Khan. This will begin in early 2027 and will continue until June-July it’s a pretty massive film. Likely will release in Diwali or November.

Ivan Thanthiran-2’ Shoot Begins with Full-On Energy and Excitement


Director R. Kannan, a protégé of legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam, made his directorial debut with Jayam Kondaan and went on to deliver several commercial hits including Kanden Kadhalai, Ivan Thanthiran, Boomerang, and Kasethan Kadavulada.

Following that, his upcoming film Gandhari, starring Hansika Motwani in the lead role, is produced and directed by him and is scheduled for release this July.

R. Kannan is directing and producing the sequel to his successful 2017 film Ivan Thanthiran, under the title Ivan Thanthiran-2. The film is being produced by Masala Pix.

The original Ivan Thanthiran starred Gautham Karthik as Sakthi, with RJ Balaji playing his friend, and Shraddha Srinath in a key role. Set against the backdrop of a prestigious engineering college, the film exposed corruption involving a powerful minister and gained critical acclaim and audience attention alike.

Carrying forward the same energy, Ivan Thanthiran-2 is designed with a gripping screenplay and compelling narrative. The story revolves around a determined young man and the extreme measures he takes to complete his mission, a theme that resonates strongly with today’s youth.

Leading South Indian music composer S.S. Thaman, who is known for scoring back-to-back blockbusters for top Telugu heroes, is composing the music for this film. Cinematography is by P.G. Muthiah.

Aamir Khan - Vishnu Vishal and bonding with Ajith

 

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently flew down to Hyderabad to name Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal and badminton star Jwala Gutta’s baby girl. Born in April, the couple’s daughter has now been named Mira—a name that, as Vishnu shared on social media, stands for “unconditional love and peace.”

Sharing a family photo with the actor on his official X handle, Vishnu expressed his gratitude to Aamir Khan for flying down all the way to Hyderabad only to name his baby. The tweet might come as a surprise to many, but those who’ve been following Vishnu Vishal’s journey would know that this moment is the culmination of a unique and unexpected friendship, one that blossomed between two actors from very different worlds.

In multiple interviews over the past year, Vishnu has spoken with endearing honesty about how his relationship with Aamir Khan began, not through cinema, but through serendipity. “His friendship is something beyond my dreams,” he said in a previous interview with CE. “I’m an introvert, someone who thinks twice before initiating a conversation with a stranger. But I’ve reached a point where I can pull Aamir sir’s legs without any inhibitions."

It all started with what Vishnu calls an “accidental meetup," a chance encounter that Jwala Gutta had with Aamir at a function. From there, the veteran actor and director gradually became a part of the couple’s inner circle. “He slowly went on to become a close friend of our family within a year,” Vishnu revealed.

That bond was only strengthened during the Chennai floods in late 2023. Vishnu and Aamir both happened to be in Karapakkam—the actor caring for his mother, and the rains suddenly stranding them in the area. “The water levels started rising, and we got scared. That’s when I posted on X. Those who knew where I lived helped me get a boat,” Vishnu recalled in an interview with Suryan FM during the promotions of Lal Saalam. “Aamir Khan sir was in the area. I helped him in whatever way I could.”

The actor revealed that Aamir was meant to return to Mumbai that very day, after his mother’s treatment was completed. But with no way out, he ended up staying back for two days. “That’s when our friendship began,” Vishnu said. “Later, Ajith Kumar helped us with the transportation after we reached the main road by boat.”

Their relationship, however, has extended well beyond those trying days. Aamir has seen Vishnu’s films Ratsasan and FIR and offered warm praise. The Tamil actor, in turn, has spoken about learning from Aamir’s process, be it in acting, marketing, or discipline. “If I can adopt even a part of Aamir’s approach, it would help me make great films,” he had told News18.

And while there’s been buzz about the two collaborating professionally, Vishnu is in no rush. “Actually, I’ve been turning it down, as I want to relish our bond and not let business influence it,” he said. “But sir is keen on making a film with me. So, we might join hands at the right time, for the right script," he said in an interview with Cinema Express.

 Vishnu had posted a picture from that time with Aamir Khan and Ajith. The couple had also attended the wedding celebrations of Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare in Udaipur in January 2024.

In Dhurandhar, Sara takes on her first complete leading role in Bollywood, sharing screen time with Ranveer Singh. Scheduled to be released on 5 December 2025, it will be a significant milestone for Sara.

Dhruv Vikram, the son of Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram, is yet to find a good hit as a lead hero. The latest news is that the actor is all set to do the remake of Bollywood’s blockbuster Kill movie.

Reportedly, it will be directed by Telugu Director Ramesh Varma (of Khiladi and Ratsasan Telugu remake fame). Interestingly, Dhruv made his debut with the Arjun Reddy remake in Tamil, but it did not work at all.

He also acted with his father, Vikram, in Mahaan, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which was directly released on OTT. Currently, Dhruv is working with Mari Selvaraj’s film called Bison, which was announced for an October 17 release.

So, the buzz is that Dhruv Vikram will star in the remake of Bollywood’s blockbuster Kill movie. Nowadays, remakes are not working much at the box office. So, we should wait and see how this film fares.

Released in 2023, Kill is an action drama directed by Nagesh Bhat. The film centers on an NSG commando, who takes on a dangerous robbery gang and protects commoners during a train journey.

Nivin Pauly with Karthi 29 / Sai to compose for Shane Nigam Tamil- Malayalam

Nivin Pauly to join Karthi who  is set to star in his 29th film, tentatively titled Marshal, directed by Taanakkaran fame Tamizh. The film is rumored to be a high-budget sea adventure, with shooting expected to take place along Tamil Nadu’s coastal regions. Vadivelu is reportedly part of the cast, while Kalyani Priyadarshan is in talks for the female lead. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, an official announcement is expected soon. Nivin Pauly is playing antagonist in Benz with Raghava Lawrence in the lead. After charming audiences with Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum (PAV), director–editor Akhil Sathyan is back, this time casting Nivin Pauly as the star of Sarvam Maya. Slated for a December release, Sarvam Maya introduces a spectral twist to the festive season. Preity Mukundan and Riya Shibu join Pauly as the female leads, while veterans like Aju Varghese, Janardanan and Vineeth add gravitas to the ensemble. Director Girish AD is returning to the director’s chair with Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, a new Malayalam film starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles. Produced by the powerhouse trio Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran under their Bhavana Studios banner, this project marks the filmmaker’s second collaboration with the production house after the sensational success of Premalu. Coolie Overseas Trade Bets HUGE

 Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Coolie has already made headlines by creating history in the overseas market, even before its theatrical release. The North America theatrical rights for Coolie have been acquired by Prathyangira Cinemas for a staggering ₹30 crore, marking the highest-ever deal for a Kollywood film in the region. This surpasses all previous benchmarks, including Jailer, which grossed an impressive $7.2 million and held the title of the top-performing Tamil film in North America.

For Coolie to achieve breakeven, the film now needs to rake in over $7.5 million — a tough milestone, especially with the release of War 2 around the same time. However, trade circles are confident that the combination of Rajinikanth’s u star power and the movies mass appeal will break all the records.

Industry experts believe that Coolie has the potential to become the first Tamil film to cross the $10 million mark in North America, provided it receives strong positive talk after the release. With tremendous hype and solid pre-release business, Coolie is not just a film — it’s an event that could redefine the market for Tamil cinema in the international arena.

All the leading distributors tried to buy the rights, but finally, Hamsini Entertainments bought the overseas rights for an outright and record price of 85 Cr. Rajinikanth’s Coolie overseas final figures result in an industry-wide shock.

The film needs to collect around 25 million to achieve breakeven overseas, and no Kollywood film has collected 25 million till now. 

Cooli is increasing its buzz among fans with continuous updates. Recently, the film’s first single received a big response, and today, the team released the first look of Aamir Khan.

Unlike Vikram, which had one dominant superstar, Coolie features a massive multi-starrer lineup including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Upendra. Balancing such star power while making Aamir’s cameo stand out will be no easy task.

ndustry insiders suggest that while Aamir’s role may not reach the same shock level as Rolex, it will carry a strong punch. Rolex came as a shock as no one knew it before the release but here Aamir’s cameo has been well publicized. His entry reportedly comes after major twists involving Nagarjuna and Upendra’s characters.
