Thamankumar popular for his role in Sun TV serial Vanatha Pol and Chinnarasu is currently acting in Kanmani Baba and Yaazhi, both feature films. He made his debut in SAC's remake of Sattam oru iruttu arai. He got injured in an action scene and SAC's son and actor Thalapathy Vijay advised him on doing risky shots.
Though an IT graduate he works in cinema as he is fond of acting. Thamankumar hopes to make it big after the release of his two movies.
