Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Love and War will make it difficult for Rajinikanth Jailer 2 to enter the Rs 1000 cr club. Balakrishna is not doing a cameo un Jailer 2. Read on :

Ranbir Kapoor scored a big blockbuster with Animal (2023), directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He has two big films in his lineup, Ramayan and Love and War, and he is going to fight Superstar Rajinikanth in a mega clash in June 2026. 

Jailer 2 has been announced for a June release, and it is likely to be at the end of the month. NTR’s Dragon was announced for the same slot, but it got postponed. With this, Jailer 2 was expected to be a solo release.

But now, as said above, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is set for a mega clash with Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Love and War. Initially, the film was planned for a 19th March release, but due to the pending shoot, it has been moved to the end of June.

Jailer 2 is a big pan-India film, and there are expectations that it will become Kollywood’s 1st 1000 Cr. For that, the movie needs a big solo release and huge positive talk, just like the 1st part.

Sivakarthikeyan’s next film is signed with director Venkat Prabhu, and the movie will go on floors next year. For this film, Kalyani Priyadarshan is said to be roped in as the leading actress, and it will be her second film with the actor and director as well. The film is reportedly being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Kalyani acted with Sivakarthikeyan in Hero (2019), directed by P.S. Mithran, which received positive reviews but did not do well at the box office. But after that, she worked on Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu and starring Simbu, which is a super blockbuster.

Kalyani Priyadarshan continues to get Tamil projects. Her next projects are Ravi Mohan’s Genie, Karthi’s Marshal, and now Sivakarthikeyan’s film joins the list of her upcoming projects.  Her recent blockbuster film, Lokah, is currently available for streaming on Jio Hotstar.

Suriya is currently working on his 46th film, directed by Venky Atluri, a family entertainer. After this, he signed his 47th with Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan, who made Aavesham with Fahadh Faasil, and for this film, Premalu star Naslen is all set to team up with Suriya. 

As the film is being made by a Malayalam director, the crucial characters are being played by them only. Already, Nazriya signed as the lead actress with Fahadh playing a crucial role, and now the buzz is that Premalu actor Nelson will join Suriya in his 47th film and will appear in an important role in this police investigation thriller.

Lokesh Kanagaraj has announced his debut as a lead hero under the direction of Arun Matheswaran, who confirms Bollywood sensation Wamiqa Gabbi will be playing the female lead in the film.

The film is currently in progress, and it will be wrapped up entirely by January 2026. It is being made as a gangster action film. Lokesh Kanagaraj went through some extensive training for the action episodes, and the inclusion of Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead also suggests that romance will be a key part of the film. 

After this film, Lokesh Kanagaraj is likely to make Kaithi 2, and the pre-production works are underway for the most-awaited sequel. Wamiqa Gabbi has appeared in a few notable Tamil films, like Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam (2016) and the Modern Love Chennai (2023) web series. She will also be seen in upcoming films like Ravi Mohan’s Genie and SJ Suryah’s Iravaakaalam.

Kamal Haasan KH234 Begins November 15th / Chinmayi on Canadian Diwali and outrage

Based on recent social media posts, singer Chinmayi Sripaada did not blame Brahmins for the Canada Diwali fire mishap. Her comments were critical of Indians living abroad who ignore local laws about fireworks, not a specific caste or religious group.

• She expressed her shame over the behavior of some of her fellow Indians and noted that the Canadian authorities had made arrests related to the illegal firework use.
• She also called for the Indian community in Canada to help rebuild the home of the victims, one of whom was Indian and also expressed shame over the incident. 

The origin of the Brahmin allegation

• The accusation that Chinmayi specifically blamed Brahmins appears to be a misinterpretation or fabrication that circulated online.
• The alleged connection to Brahmins could stem from previous controversies where Chinmayi was accused of shaming Brahmins, particularly in the context of the #MeToo movement and allegations involving Tamil poet Vairamuthu.

• t is being reported that Netflix bought the film’s OTT streaming rights for Rs. 25 crores, which is a remarkable deal for a mid-budget film. The movie will begin streaming on Netflix from November 14 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. This means Dude will be available on OTT less than a month after its theatrical release. We have to see if Dude gets more love on OTT than in theaters, or if it will face backlash for some of the bold and controversial themes explored in the film. Bad Girl is a recent Tamil film that features Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role. The coming-of-age drama is directed by Varsha Bharath and jointly produced by prominent directors Vetri Maaran and Anurag Kashyap. The film’s teaser sparked controversy, with many accusing the makers of misrepresenting the Brahmin community.

The protagonist in the film wishes to live life on her own terms, including intimate choices, and this didn’t sit well with the referred community. The movie hit the screens on September 5, but it couldn’t leave an impact commercially. The latest update reveals that Bad Girl is set to make its OTT debut on November 4 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Jio Hotstar holds post-theatrical streaming rights of this bold film. The theatrical window is almost nine weeks, which is one of its kind for a regional film. Bad Girl also stars Shanthi Priya, Saranya Ravichandran, Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, and Sashank Bommireddipalli in key roles.

Bison Spoils Dude Record Run / Balakrishna - Nayanthara combo Back

Dhruv Vikram- Maro Bison is a hurdle to Pardeep Ranganathan's Dude repeating Dragon success at box office.
 Dragon is the biggest grosser for Pradeep Ranganathan with a total of around 150 Cr worldwide. His latest film, Dude, had a bigger opening weekend than Dragon, but it is unlikely to surpass Dragon’s total collections by the end of its run. 

Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, the film, Dude, maintains a clear lead over Dragon for the first few days and shows a very strong trend until Diwali, but after that, the movie slows down at the box office, not achieving the expected jump on the 2nd weekend.

In the Tamil market, Dhruv Vikram’s Bison leads over Pradeep’s film, while Kiran Abbavaram’s K-Ramp attracts a larger audience in the Telugu market.

Overall, after the 2nd weekend, Dude’s collections are close to 105 Cr gross, and if this trend continues, the film is projected to close around 120 Cr, indicating that it is unlikely to reach Dragon’s box office numbers. 

Dragon (Return of the Dragon in Telugu) will continue to be the biggest grosser of Pradeep Ranganathan.

The above stats are just a comparison between Pradeep Ranganathan’s films, but if we look only at Dude collecting more than 100 Cr gross for the budget, it is a properly profitable venture and a very successful film as well.

Actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nayanthara are reportedly set to reunite for their fourth film together, a historical action drama directed by Gopichand Malineni. The untitled project, referred to as #NBK111, was announced in 2025 and will be the duo's first film since 2018.
