Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President and actor Vijay appealed to students participating in the party's felicitation functions on Friday, June 13, to refrain from comparing him to the late Chief Minister K Kamaraj or discussing the 2026 assembly elections.

At one such event organised on Friday, June 13, Vijay honoured Class 10 and Class 12 students who secured top ranks in their respective schools across Tamil Nadu, according to the report by The New Indian Express.

During his address, he requested the students' participants to avoid political references and refrain from using terms like "Ilaiya Kamaraj (Little Kamaraj)" to refer to him.

Before the event began, attendees observed a two-minute silence in memory of the victims of the Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. "This is a small request, please don't take it the wrong way. Let's keep the speeches a bit brief and avoid political references. Please refrain from speaking about the 2026 elections, or mentioning leaders like Kamaraj or Ilaya Kamaraj. Instead, talk about your teachers, your school, or any other subject of your choice," he said.

Vijay's remarks appeared to be a response to recent controversies. Certain groups and caste-based organisations opposed to students comparing Vijay with Kamaraj at a recent event, as per the report by The New Indian Express.

At Friday's event, approximately 300 meritorious students from 32 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and 19 in Puducherry were presented with cash prizes and merit certificates.

A source to the project told the portal, “The much ambitious Shaktimaan is now to be revived with Allu Arjun. Adding to the excitement, Basil Joseph, who impressed audiences and critics alike with the Malayalam superhero film Minnal Murali, has been roped in to direct the mega venture. He is in talks with Allu Arjun to play Shaktimaan. The much-talked-about project, backed by Sony Pictures. The team aims to honour the nostalgic essence of the original TV series while reimagining it with cutting-edge technology and a gripping narrative.”

The source added, “Two big international studios set to collaborate with Geetha Arts, with stakeholders from four different industries backing the project." FUJIFILM India, a leader in healthcare technology, has launched its latest CSR campaign, ‘Find It Early, Fight It Early’, in the presence of Ms. Upasana Kamineni Konidela, Vice Chairperson of CSR, Apollo Hospitals Foundation. Anushka Shetty's name gets associated with Kaithi 2

For the last two days, news has come out that none other than Anushka Shetty will be playing the female lead and that she has signed the dotted line. But we at OTTplay have come to know that there is no truth to this news, and the reports circulating are false.

One of the sources close to Anushka from Hyderabad has confirmed to us that no one has even approached her to date and that whatever news is being circulated is not true. The source goes on to add that Anushka is done with the shoot of her Telugu film Ghaati and has not committed to any other Tamil or Telugu film to date.

Madhab Karky is son of Vairamuthu. Vairamuthu Ii a long note, he wrote in Tamil, "Many of my verses have been used by the Tamil film industry as film titles. None of those who have taken them have asked my permission or even asked for a word of respect."

Actor Ravi Mohan Produces and Stars in ‘BroCode’

 Ravi Mohan turns producer with his upcoming film titled BroCode, in which he also plays the lead role, under the direction of Karthik Yogi.

One of Tamil cinema’s leading stars, Ravi Mohan, will headline the new film BroCode, playing a pivotal protagonist role. The film marks his debut as a producer.

Directed by Karthik Yogi, known for films like Dikkiloona and Vadakkupatti Ramasamy, BroCode will feature Ravi Mohan in the lead role. Acclaimed actor S.J. Suryah also plays a significant character in the film, alongside four leading female actors.

Cinematography is by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, known for his work in Por Thozhil. The music is composed by Harshavardhan, the composer behind hits like Animal and Arjun Reddy. Editing will be handled by Pradeep E. Raghav, and art direction is by A. Rajesh.

Promised as a fun-filled entertainer with elements of slapstick comedy, the film is being produced under the banner Ravi Mohan Studios by actor Ravi Mohan himself.
