Karthikeya plays Ajith's son in Good Bad Ugly / Perusu Hindi remake/ Docufilm on Raghuvaran

Actor Karthikeya Dev, who played young Vardha Raja Mannar in Prabhas' Salaar, is all set to make his Tamil film debut in Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly. The detail was revealed by director Adhik Ravichandran to Cinema Vikatan. In the interview he said "Salaar actor Karthikeya plays Ajith sir's son in the film. And the father-son emotional bond will be one the key highlights of Good Bad Ugly" He further elaborated that the film will take off with this theme, and it is sure to resonate with family audience.

Tamil film Perusu ( Pedha in Telugu) currently in theatres is to be remade in Hindi. Perusu is a remake of Sri Lankan film Tentigo released in 2023 is produced by by Hiranya Perera and the indie powerhouse Crawling Angel Films (known for Girls Will Be Girls, Once Again, and Nimtoh), was a standout at the festival. True Story Films will team up with Crawling Angel Films, with the latter duo of Sanjay Gulati and Neeraj Pandey co-producing the Hindi adaptation. Three-time Filmfare winner Karan Vyas, known for his work on Scam 1992, Scam 2003, Scoop, and Saas Bahu aur Flamingo, will adapt the comedy into Hindi. Perusu is a Tamil Comedy film directed by Ilango Ramanathan. The film is produced by Harman Baweja, Sasi Naga, Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Karthik Subbaraj under the banner of Baweja Studios, Emberlight Studios, Stone Bench Films. Superstar Rajinijanth had begun the shooting of director Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film, 'Coolie', in Hyderabad on July 5, last year. Aamir Khan make a special cameo in Coolie, a role insiders describe as pivotal to the film’s storyline. Originally announced as Thalaivar 171 in September 2023, the film was officially titled Coolie in April 2024. Filming began in July 2024, with locations spanning Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok. The movie is expected to hit screens worldwide in 2025 in both standard and IMAX formats.

Mohanlal L2 Empuran Producer Lyca steps down enters Gokulam / Sona hates Vadivelu Why ?

Finally Gokulam Gopalan of Gokulam Movies has stepped in to ensure Mohanlal’s L2 Empuran release on March 27th. We had reported that Ashirwad Cinemas the company owned by Antony Perumbavoor is running to raise money to atleast partly pay the Rs 80 crores plus interest that Lyca has been asking ( read; https://southfilmy.blogspot.com/2025/03/mohanlal-most-crucial-film-l2-empuran.html). As Red Giant is not chipping in with any money, Gokulam Gopalan who regularly buys Tamil films for Kerala Distribution has chipped and mediated a settlement by joining Ashirwad Movies as producer. Lyca will get a part of the invested amount and rest it can recover through theatrical collections. Gokulam and Ashirwad will share the Malayalam version proceeds. To put an end to speculation that film is not releasing on March 27th, it has put out a post reaffirming that it is sure to come. Mohanlal is at shooting spot and so also Prithviraj at Rajamouli shoot. From what we hear is that Lyca will remain as Tamil Nadu distributor and not co- producer. Ashirwad had tried to rope in Confident Group to step in but it did not fulfill. Lyca was the presenter of the film and out of Rs 150 crores, it put in Rs 80 crores and rest of it came by accounting the salaries of Mohanlal and Prithviraj and footing VFX bills. Lyca wanted 50 % of the proceeds as it knew that it cannot recover the money from Tamil Nadu and two Telugu States. To this Ashirwad has not agreed and now that Lyca will get compensated by Gokulam. Another reason for Lyca to have a scare was that the Kerala Producers and Exhibitors negative approach about the film. Times Group Junglee Pictures and Mumbai based biggest Digital rights holder GoldMine had stepped in to produce Malayalam films. Lyca has a business arrangement with Gokulam over Kerala distribution of their Tamil films. Overseas deals are not confirmed yet as Lyca and Ashirwad differences existed. Lyca is a major player overseas. Similarly OTT platforms will not confirm any deal without release clarity.

Sonakshi Sinha Telugu debut film dispute has gone to court. Director Venkat has challenged the claim made by Agarwals that Perna had violated the MOU that they had agreed. Content Film Productions accused renowned filmmaker Prerna Arora’s Ess Kay Gee Entertainment company of violating an agreement over Jatadhara’s rights. They have taken legal action against Prerna Arora for violating the agreement. The agreement gave 50% rights to Content Films of the film Jatadhara but the agreement was violated by Ess Kay Gee They issued a public notice asking those wanting to work in the film should not go with Es Kay Gee. Jatadhara’s director and writer Venkat Kalyan stated that according to the MoU signed, 50% rights were given upon an investment of Rs. 10 Crores from Content Films productions. However, the production company has only invested Rs. 60 Lakhs so far. Venkat Kalyan also initiated legal action against Content Film Productions in the Honorable Bombay High Court, the

Ravi Mohan to turn Director ? / Manju Warrier to Produce/ Ranya Rao with Karnataka CM

Manju Warrier will be once again producing and acting in Beyond The Border Lines, directed by three-time National Award-winning Malayalam filmmaker Bijukumar Damodaran, popularly known as Dr Biju. The film is about an archaeology team stranded at the Indo-China border and is set against the geopolitical border tensions of the region. Beyond The Border Lines was announced at the second edition of India’s Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) as part of the CinéV-CHD Market lineup, featuring 22 diverse projects from established and emerging filmmakers. In this project, films that are produced are tied up with investors and distribution lines. Three other Malayalam projects have also been unveiled as part of the lineup. These include Kunjila Mascillamani's Guptam (The Last of Them Plagues). The film is produced by Jeo Baby ( the Great Indian Kitchen) and Kani Kusurti ( All we Imagine Light). Kunjila directed a film for the anthology Freedom Fight produced by Jeo Baby and streamed on Sony Liv. Director Krishand's Masthishka Maranam (A Frankenbiting of Simon’s Memories) is another project Krishand got Kerala State award for Aavasavyuham and also directed Purusha Pretham and was co producer off Gaganachari .Jeo Baby's film is Punishment. Manju has previously co-produced films such as Chathur Mukham, A'hr, and Lalitham Sundaram. Dr Biju's previous directorial was Adrishya Jalakangal, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead role.
