Foreign Sarakku : From Gujarat to Tamil Nadu

 Foreign Sarakku ( cargo) is a film produced and directed by ex sailors. It tells about a cargo that  travelled from Gujarat to Tamil Nadu and the aftermath. Teaser has been released and entire crew and cast are new , except for sound engineer Sivakumar who works with A R Rahman. Vigneshwaran, Gopinath and Sundar, who worked together on the ship, have made 20 short films, both during their studies and during their tenure, due to their interest in cinema. After watching their short film and being praised by many, those who decided that they should stop filming left their work and turned their full attention to cinema. Accordingly, the three friends have produced and directed a film with the money earned from working on the ship.

Produced by Gopinath on behalf of Neptune Sailors Productions, the film is directed by Vigneshwaran Karuppusamy and stars Sundar and Gopinath in the lead roles.Gopinath and Sundar to play the protagonists, with Hussain and Surender Sundarapandian in the lead roles. Also, three women, Abrina, Ilakia and Harini, have been cast in the lead role.

Filmed by Sivanath Rajan.S and composed by XPR, Prakash Raj.P has done the editing. TM Sarathkumar has written the songs.
Only one technical artist is popular in the film, which is made up entirely of newcomer artists. He is the sound mixer Sivakumar. Sivakumar, who works at AR Rahman Studio, has been working on sev ral hit films like 'Charpatta'. He is in charge of the sound mixing of the film.
It is noteworthy that Trent Music has acquired the music publishing rights for the film 'Foreign Cargo', which has been shot in Gujarat, Namakkal and Madurai.

Pa Ranjith 's Kuthiravaal to get a theatre release - Anjali Patil lauds democratic 'film making way

 Kuthiravaal will get a theater release on March 4th and prior to that the film's audio was released. Pa Ranjith , producer- director who backed this experimental film which deals with magical realism said that such films need to come out and hoped that the audience would come to grips with it. He said that subjects that challenged him intellectually always fascinated him and that is why he agreed to produce it and Vignesh joined him.

Film as the title says horse tail is about a bank employee who wakes up to find him having a horse tail and a horse without it.. He sees a sky  where the Sun and Moon appear at the same time. Kamal Haasan's Aalavandhan & Irandam Ulagam.of Selvaraghavan had tackled this theme of magical realism. 

Main lead Kalaiyarasan as Freud Sarvanan  sees several peculiar characters like a transient woman and Van Gogh. Anjali Patil is known to Tamil audience for her role in Kaala ,  the Pa Ranjith- Rajinikanth film. At the audio function, she said that she was in tears to hear that the film is coming to theaters. ( it was screened way back in 2021 at IFFK ). She said that the film showed her that film making can be democratic and not discriminated by the numbers or status.

Yogi Babu as Lord Ganesha to up controversy element

 Yogi Babu is currently shooting in minus degree temperature at Jaisalmer ( Rajasthan) playing Lord Ganesha in the upcoming film Yaanai Mugathan ( a remake of Malayalam film Innu Muthal ). Urvasi and Ramesh Thilak are playing important roles with veteran Hindi actor Uday Shankar ( he plays the same role of a villager from Jaisalmer - Thar desert)Shooting is going on in border areas near Thar. The director says that if one climbs atop a hill, one can see Pakistan.

Director Rejish said that he was scouting for locations for his second film. At that time, Yogi Babu called him and told him that he was keen to play the role of Lord Krishna ( played by Suraj Pops) and as he was deeply a religious man, the film made an impact. Rejish  then reworked on the script as now the budget was big. He changed Lord Krishna to Lord Ganesha. He said that instead of narrating the story from the protaganist view, he changed it to Lord Ganesha instead.

The landlord is landlady here and Urvasi plays the role. Urvasi has also been helping Rajesh with the Tamil script. In Malayalam it was a OLA cab driver and here it is an auto driver played by Ramesh Thilak. Bharath Shankar who scored for Mandela starring Yogi is the music director. Music of Mejo Joseph for Malayalam was a hit, especially the Hindi song Mausam sung by Javed Ali ( singer of  Hindi Srivalli song in Pushpa). Kartik S Nair is cameraman. Says director - While the Malayalam film was centered around the driver and his discovery of the meaning of God, here the story is told from the point of view of Ganesha, with an important backstory based on Urvashi’s character. This film, like my earlier one, is also about the presence of God and the questions around this, but is more massy and I’ve made it slightly more controversial"
