 Is Thalapthy Vijay playing an IPS officer who takes to politics in Jananayagan ? The Kodaikanal schedule will be the last shooting portions. Three noted politicians who quit IPS are Dr R Nataraj, K Annamalai and  A G Mourya. Annamalai was State Chief of BJP and Mourya joined Kamal Haasan party MNM and contested unsuccessfully in last polls. In a video posted by Vijay, in which he is seen sharing wishes for women's day, the actor is seen sporting a new look. The video is said to have been shot on the sets of his final film, Jana Nagayagan, which is directed by H Vinoth. The mustache and beard has similarity to Dr R Nataraj.

1.    In all probability, it can be Dr Nataraj . Dr Nataraj after retirement joined AIADMK . One can draw a parallel to  Thalapathy quitting films for politics ?. Know  about Dr Nataraj ; Dr R Nataraj: He is an Indian politician who belongs to Anna Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He was born to Ramchandran on 31 March 1951 in Chennai, then called Madras. He is an alumnus of Presidency College Madras. He also has a bachelor of a law degree and has earned his doctorate from Madras University. Post his retirement from the Indian Police Service, Dr Nataraj joined AIADMK in 2014. He was a 1975 batch IPS known for the reforms that he brought in the policing and administrative system. According to his words, “When such persons become members of political parties, the youth get drawn to issues concerning public affairs. Besides, as both IAS and IPS provide leadership roles, it is only a natural transition for officers of the two services to get into politics.”

4.    AX Alexander: Days after R Nataraj joined the AIADMK, another former DGP AX Alexander joined the party in 2014. Alexander was also the DGP of Tamil Nadu before R Nataraj. “Political service gives wider and broader scope for rendering public service. Marathi singer Vaishali Samant’s recent feat—25 years after singing Yaro yarodi in Ratnam’s much-loved Tamil film, Alaipayuthey (2000), she has reunited with the filmmaker and A R Rahman for a Tamil film again.  She has crooned Jinguchaa for the upcoming movie, Thug Life.   Tamil song credits the singers are Vaishali Samant, Shakthisree Gopalan & Adithya RK.The Hindi version of the song brings fresh vocal firepower to .. Sukhwinder Singh, Ronkini Gupta, Aashima Mahajan, and Vaisha li Samant...
It comes as another hit for Samant after Aaya re toofan from Chhaava earlier this year. She reveals that it was during the recording of the Chhaava number, also composed by Rahman, that the maestro suggested she sing Tamil songs again. Months later, she was in the studio, singing Jinguchaa. To Samant, working with Rahman is like “enrolling into a university.” “Every language carries its own cultural charm. With Jinguchaa, it was a challenge to pronounce the words like a Tamil native. In a day and age where voices come and go, Rahman sir adds the punch that makes a song stand the test of time. I hope we can continue working together for the next 25 years too.”

Thudarum Ending explained l What is Vijay Sethupathi role in it ?

Mohanlal’s character, Shanmughan alias Benz, was a stunt artist, and Vijay Sethupathi’s character, Anbu, was his colleague. Unfortunately, during an accident, in a bid to save Benz, Anbu dies. Shobana’s character, Lalitha, was Anbu’s wife, and together they had a 4-year-old son named Pavi, who eventually grows up and is portrayed by Thomas Mathew.

Following Anbu’s death, Benz marries Lalitha, taking on the role of Pavi’s stepfather. The family chooses to leave Tamil Nadu, since the stunt artists involved in the accident that claimed Anbu’s life were blacklisted. As a farewell gesture, Benz’s employer, the fight master, gifts him a black Ambassador car, which Benz continues to use for his work. Eventually, Benz and Lalitha welcome a daughter into their family.

Decades have passed, and Pavi is now in his college years. He is in love with Mary George, portrayed by Aarsha Chandini Baiju, but her father, George, played by Prakash Varma, is against this relationship.

A minor incident changes Benz’s life forever. The Ambassador was seized during a routine vehicle check conducted by the police for transporting narcotics. Benz wasn’t transporting narcotics; he had given the vehicle to a service center, and the mechanic, while in his custody, transported the narcotics. When Sub Inspector Benny apprehended him in a bid to escape, the mechanic beat him up. As a result, the vehicle was seized and held at the police station, and Benz was informed that the vehicle would only be released once the police got their hands on the mechanic.

One night, Pavi is taken to the police station, where George is the station house officer. There, he and his subordinate, Sub Inspector Benny, portrayed by Binu Pappu, kill Pavi for being in love with George’s daughter and threatening to reveal some of George’s secrets. Afterwards, the dead body is stuffed into Benz’s black Ambassador car.

That same night, after Pavi’s tragic death, Benz visits the police station to ask George to release his vehicle. George agrees and instructs Benny to return the car. However, Benny initially hesitates, as George isn’t aware of the body still being inside. Benny then informs George that the body is still in the car. Later, George decides to hire Benz’s Ambassador as a taxi to attend a colleague’s sister’s pre-marriage party.

Upon arriving at the event location, Benny takes the key to the Ambassador from Benz. After some time, Benz is instructed to drive them to a remote area deep in the jungle. Initially hesitant, Benz reluctantly agrees. During the journey, tension builds between him, George, and Benny. The colleague, whose sister was about to get married the following day, is also present in the vehicle.

As they drive, George reveals a chilling information: there is a dead body in the car, that of a young man who had been involved with the bride. They killed him because he had compromising videos of her.

With no choice but to comply, Benz follows their orders. After disposing of the body, he returns home. When he checks the boot of the car, he finds blood and a wallet. In his panic, as the dog barks, he accidentally throws the wallet into the bushes. Distraught, he forgets about it and cleans the car, trying to return to his normal life.

Benz soon realizes that his son is missing, and an investigation begins, raising suspicions in his mind—especially when he notices his son’s Pulsar bike at the police station. That night, Benz decides to search for the wallet he had thrown into the bushes. When he retrieves it, he is shocked to find that it belongs to his son.

At the same time, a landslide occurs at the location where the body was disposed of. During the rescue operation, the body is discovered by the rescue team. It is quickly identified as Benz’s son.

George and Benny concoct a false story, claiming that Benz was behind the murder. They accuse the siblings of having an incestuous relationship, suggesting that Benz killed his son because of it. To back up their fabricated story, the police violently beat both Lalitha and her daughter in an attempt to force them to confess to these false allegations.

Meanwhile, Benz kidnaps the police officer who was present when he, George, and Benny disposed of the body. The officer claims he had no knowledge of the murder and was only asked to guide them through the jungle. Benz is eventually captured by the police, but George, with the help of Benny and officers from the armed reserve camp, plans to have Benz killed. The plot fails, and Benz manages to kill Benny and escape from the police.

As George persistently torments Benz’s family in an attempt to capture him, Benz reaches out to George. He tells George to come to his house, where his daughter, Mary, is home alone. When they meet, a struggle ensues, resulting in Benz killing George. Mary witnesses the entire ordeal.

Later, Mary visits Lalitha and her daughter during Pavi’s funeral. As the story reaches its conclusion, Benz is shown being escorted to court in handcuffs. Outside the courthouse, Mary stands with Benz’s family, fulfilling the promise Pavi made earlier, Mary is now considered part of Benz’s family. A reporter approaches Benz, asking if he killed his son. Benz answers truthfully.

What Did Padma Bhushan Ajith Kumar do to Heera his then GF and that too 27 years back ? It would not have mattered but somebody thinks by posting this it would embrass those who awarded him the honour. Ajith and family image is not one bit going to be damaged and we have seen that in many cases before. Without saying Ajith name she wrote that he had come to her house in a state of confusion and she took him under her wings and nutured him . She sought roles for him. Without mentioning the names, she has reacted to the allegations that Ajith had made against her 27 years ago. Thala, in an interview, had allegedly claimed: "We lived together, I really liked her, but now everything has changed; she is not the same person anymore. In fact, she is a drug addict". Post this break-up, Ajith met Shalini on the sets of Amarkalam in 1999, and married her in the year 2000.

Heera then accused Ajith of faking surgeries and helping him when he was bedridden after an accident. She explained: "My young mind could not comprehend how the person who landed lost at my doorstep-I took under my compassionate wings-included, supported, protected, encouraged and cheered-became antagonistic overnight. And how I went from standing for days and nights on end at the actor's bedside in a hospital, caring for him (including changing his bedpans) as he recovered from "supposed" spine surgery to him flipping the switch-abruptly shutting off with no access or communication. Ajith had undergone three major surgeries early in his career due to which he was in bed rest for 1.5 years. Mostly recently in 2024, a minor medical procedure to treat a swollen nerve connecting his ear to the brain (not a brain surgery.

"The actor's criminality -slander, libel, gaslighting society and grooming his fans for violence and contemptible lies designed to promote unforgivable attacks on my dignity, integrity, sanity, and safety made me spiral into despair, making me want to commit suicide," the former actress added.

Kamal Haasan old script is Thug Life - Treatment Mani style / Thudarm costly mistake

After the story of Thug Life has been revealed, we come to know that actually the story and script was written by Kamal Haasan almost two decades back. After Mani Ratnam read this, he decided to go further and both of them together co- wrote close 20% of the screenplay.

The film line looks close to Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. ( CVV). The story of that film is about an aged Don who finds out that one of his 3 sons was the one who attacked him. Between all of this, the concept of it is how the brothers fight among each other, and how a 4th man, an apparent dishonest police officer, comes into play, and how everything was his sketched plan to eliminate the whole family. In CVV there was so many distractions that the core plot got lost. In Thug Life the father- son conflict is just one dimension of the subject. The bound script of what is now called Thug Life was finished over 40 years ago. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam were supposed to collaborate in 2002 for a film based on the Rashomon Effect. But the collaboration didn’t materialize, and the concept later developed to become Virumaandi in 2004.

The treatment to gangsterism in Thug Life will be different from his films - Thalapathi, CCV, and even Raavanan. It moves away from the style of grand songs- action and drama added to it. The film will cover the heated drama between the gangster family and will also cover the dirty politics of the outside world. There are many surprising things in this film, one of them is how responsibly and genuinely they have crafted the Father and Son bond, which has been very well done by Kamal and Simb

Thudarum makers who played down the publicity of the film did a blunder by not reeleasing the Tamil version of it at the same time. The reviews for the film with subtitles is good. Given that in Kerala the film collected Rs 28 crores in 3 days, the Tamil print would have taken it to Rs 100 cr club. The Telugu version is doing very well.

In the first three days, Thudarum earned Rs 28 crore gross in India, out of which it collected Rs 20 crore gross in Kerala. The film earned Rs 40 crore from the overseas collections, taking the worldwide gross collections to Rs 68 crore. This means that the Mohanlal-starrer has scored the second biggest opening weekend in Malayalam cinema, overtaking Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Aadujeevitham, that earned Rs 64.85 crore in its four-day opening weekend in 2024

THUG LIFE l STORY- AUDIO DETAILS

Thug Life one line is about the father a Don and his son – STR. Both are supportive of each other in the gangster world where almost everybody they meet are out to kill them. After a time, Father realizes that actually his biggest enemy is his own son who has been plotting behind his back. The father will not confront the son directly but instead be playing counter games. The situation leads to a question as to Who is the King ? Friendship bonding with father and son blur the line of what is evil and good ?

Those who have seen Godfather would remember that Don’s eldest son who takes after him in his profession is a playboy and here STR too is one and Trisha and Sania Malhotra are his links. Who is his wife or both his consorts ?. The film is a raw depiction of how a Gangster family operates and the father- son is a raw relationship with no holds barred.

Most of the other character have a limited time on screen. Now the fights are very raw like what we had seen in Bala or Vetrimaaran films. In fact before the Jinguchaa song, an action scene happens After this song, the whole movie will turn another shade of raw gangsterism and action blocks. The core of the storyline is based on the egos of the characters, on who is truly “the man” and who isn't.

3 looks of Kamal Haasan :. The first one is the Kuruthipunal Kamal look, the second one is the Sathyaa Kamal look (Jinguchaa Look), and then the final look of the Rangaraaya Sakthivel Nayakar Kamal Look (Long hair). This story revolves around these 3 time time frames, and will switch between each other accordingly.

Unlike Lokesh who went in massy action scenes in Vikram, Mani will keep the action level to what the subject demands. The action will not deviate from the film’s core of the Father- Son conflict and bonding. Also there are many players wanting to kill the Don.

Audio Details of Thug Life

• The next single will be released on May 4 for Trisha’s birthday. This single will be the romantic track between Simbu and Trisha, which they have shot throughout North India. There is a lot of buzz regarding this song in the industry. It will be featuring the pure romance between the characters, not like VTV, where it is subtle. The intimacy and bond between the characters will be beautiful. Rahman has put in an extraordinary score for this song, and it appears that it has almost been tailor-made to satisfy the Simbu fans, along with the fans of their pair.
• There are two more confirmed singles in the film. One of them will be the famous Vinveli Nayaga song, which we heard in the title teaser. The second one will be the pakka and local dappankuthu between Simbu and Kamal. Yes, you read correctly, from what I am hearing, there is another song between the two that they have done incredibly. I was able to see some stills from the shoot.

• Everyone knows that the team is taking the promotional aspect of the film very seriously. They will be touring major locations worldwide for this film, starting with a musical event in Australia headlined by Rahman, where the entire team will be participating. A tour to America is also very likely at the end of the promotional campaign. An India-wide tour has been confirmed and locked by the cast members who are participating.
• The audio and trailer launch of the film will be happening on May 16th. It will have a very special guest appearance. Expect a fiery speech from Simbu like how he gave at the Pathu Thala Audio Launch.

Chiyaan Vikram Saamy cleared K Balchander's Debts - FLASHBACK

h Though Rajinikanth had helped Guru K Balchander clear debts by gining dates, at this point ne could not help nor Kamal Haasan , another sishya of the Guru. It was Chiyaan recommened by Prakash Rraj, another KB sishya, who did Saamy Film cleared all Kavithalaaya debts. Chiyaan did not take any money till all areas was sold and accountss cleared with Distributors.

Prior to Saamy, Kavithaalaya Productions was tottering along with Loss after Loss

The Last profit maker for Kavithaalaya had been POOVELI all the way back in 1998

Since then the Company had churned out 7 Films, all of which made losses to the tune of nearly ₹8 Crore

Though Pushpa Kandasamy was the face of Kavithaalaya productions, it was Balachanders name that ran the company

Most of Kavithaalaya's financiers were former Actors and Businessmen and Jains who charged 16% a year in interest

At least in this aspect they were luckier than G Venkateswaran, brother of Mani Ratnam who borrowed at lower interest from UNSAVORY BORROWERS LIKE ARUL NAVEEN

Balachander’s s own last directorial Parthaale Parvasam had been a major bomb that cost distributors ₹3 Crore in losses

This after Simran and Madhavan both agreed not to charge a fee in honor of Balachander

Balachander's Proteges were both otherwise occupied

Rajini was in hiatus and contemplating retirement or a political journey after Baba while Kamal was already having call sheets until 2004

It was Janagaraj who was Balachander's friend and protege who suggested that Balachander should go with the Younger Talent and make Masala Films

He recommended Vikram who had worked with Janagaraj in KING

Balachander was still unsure though Vikrams films Dhill and Gemini had burnt the box offices red with profits

His previous film Thamizh starring Prashanth and Simran had been a big hit

Balachander asked Hari to do a film for Kavithaalaya

Hari had three stories - One would become Arul starring Vikram too and the other was abandoned

The third was a Police film

Balachander listened and approved and said “Any chance Vikram would fit the role?”

Hari replied “I considered nobody else but Vikram”

Vikram had a packed call sheet back then

He was shooting already for Kadhal Sadugudu and also for Dhool in their last and second last schedules

So Balachander on the recommendation of another Protege Prakash Raj listened to Director Ramana and green lighted another story this time with Vijay in the lead. This would be Tirumalai and change the life of Vijay as a Masala Actor.

Now Vikram heard Balachander wanted a film with him and decided to give him a 100 Day Call Sheet. He did this because Kadal Sadugudu had a break thanks to the Vivek filmed comedy portions needing to be merged into the shot sequence

Vikram generously agreed to a pay cut for the honor of working with Balachander

He also decided to put on weight because playing a Senior Cop wasn't the same as playing a Young Trainee Cop

AM Ratnam also agreed to allow Vikram to shoot simultaneously for Saamy in the last schedule for Dhool even though it meant the wrap would be on 12th November 2002 instead of 12th September

The Choice of Villian was hard

Perumal Pichai was a tough villian and Hari initially believed Ashish Vidyarti would fit the bill. However Balachander wanted Kannada Actor Ambarish

Ambarish who was into politics refused to play villian but instead recommended Malayalam Actor Tilakan

Tilakan was a bit sick and had a full call sheet

Balachander's friend Dasari (something), a Telugu Director or Producer recommended using KOTA SRINIVASA RAO

This was during an informal discussion as friends when Dasari said “KSR is perfect for this character”

Sreenivasa Rao was doing father roles in Romcoms and family films back then and expressed an interest in playing a major villian

Hari wanted a new face and Trisha had the available call sheets

Vikrams close friend Vivek played comedian yet again (They were very close. Vivek called him KENNY till the end of his life)

The Script had numerous changes

The Death of Perumal Pichai was rewritten many times until the final ending was approved

Trisha was to be killed off but instead Balachander recommend Vijay kumar be killed off to maintain the commercial value of the film

It was again Balachander who recommended that Saamy be a DySP and not an Inspector based on the script and this meant since he would have to be in his late 30s - the Trisha Vikram romance was suitably rewritten with enough dialogues to indicate the young age of Trisha

Kota Srinivasa Rao improvised his entire acting on his own. His expressions and his movements were so good that even Vikram was awestruck at times.

The Distributors who held ₹4 Crore of Kavithaalaya losses purchased the rights for Saamy for ₹ 2.7 Crore on a 30–70 profit sharing agreement for every rupee earned after they recouped their entire ₹6.7 Crore

Typically this meant Balachander would be in the black with distributors but he wouldn't make any money out of the movie

Vikram didn't take his final payment and said he would take it only after Balachander paid off his dues

Same gesture he showed Kamal and waited 2 1/2 years before getting that payment after Vikram

A Gesture he didn't show to GVM later

Saamy was not just a massive hit.

It broke Padayappas record

It was the biggest grosser in TN History and held the record for two years before Rajini reclaimed the position in 2005 for the next 12/14 years until Bahubali II / Bigil finally took Rajini out of a list he had dominated since Annamalai in 1992 with a very brief hiatus

The Films share was ₹19 Crore and Balachander took home ₹ 9 Crore with which he paid off all his debts to the financiers of ₹4 Crore

He ended from a ₹8 Crore Loss to a ₹5 Crore Profit

Distributors were furious that they didn't outright buy the film rights for ₹8 Crore as offered by Balachander

Kavithaalaya also sold remake rights in four languages and that money too came to Balachander

Plus the audio track also was among the last cassettes sold in TN and made money

Balachander gifted Vivek and Vikram Mitsubishi Pajero cars for the films success

In one swift stroke - Balachander was profitable and his company was in the black

The sad part was TWO DAYS AFTER RELEASE WHEN EVERYONE KNEW THE FILM WAS RUNNING TO HOUSEFULL SHOWS -

G Venkateswaran hanged himself when he was told that two of his financiers would be coming to visit him and if he couldn't pay, they would do things to him that he couldn't imagine

Balachander after Saamy and Tirumalai was laughing all the way to the bank

Yet he never risked a solo production again and always tied up with financiers on a percentage basis where he never owed any debt

Kota Sreenivasa Rao became hugely famous as a Tamil villian and ended up leasing a bungalow in Chennai in KK Nagar to come and go from Vijayawada where he was living then and later from Hyderabad. He acted villian in many films including Sarkar in Hindi as Selvar Mani.

Hari became the third biggest name in Tamil Cinema in the 2000–2020 period after Shankar & GVM. His fame dropped massively after Singam 3 & Saamy Square

Saamys Gross was finally beaten by Chandramukhi in 2005 but Chandramukhi was nearly beaten by Vikrams Anniyan released a couple of months later

Such was Vikrams raw power

Yet despite all this Vikrams career stagnated post 2005 and today he has been overtaken by Vijay, Ajith and Suriya who were all far below him in the pecking order

Cameraman P C Sreeram `BOLD' tweet on Empuran / Mrunal Thakur for Allu Arjun- Atlee film

 Empuran post 27 censor cuts made voluntarily by Director is now streaming on JioHotstar. The viewership is very dull and the newly censored version to famed cinematographer P C looked like a comedy film. Though in his earlier post he asked Empuran makers to not make any cuts , buckled down when it came to his tweet on Empuran. Within minutes of backlash to his tweet, he deleted it.

PC Sreeram Calls 'L2: Empuraan A Comedy' In The Now Deleted Tweet

PC Sreeram posted "Empuraan on OTT is a comedy.” The comment did not go well with netizens, triggering criticism across social media.

A few weeks ago, cinematographer PC Sreeram urged director-actor Prithviraj Sukumaran not to make edits despite mounting pressure from right-wing groups.

Applauding the director-actor for showing the “truth” in the film, he said, “Truth threatens, thus Empuraan stands tall.

The film landed in controversy for its portrayal of communal violence, which is said to be a recreation of the Gujarat 2002 riots. Terming the depiction ‘anti-Hindu’, several right-wing groups threatened to boycott the film.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan is a political action drama produced by Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Sree Gokulam Movies, the film is available to stream in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Several users expressed their displeasure, stating that they did not expect such a critical comment from a respected personality like Sreeram. He soon deleted the tweet.
