In an old 2017 interview with India Today, Kamal had some shocking revelations as to why he took this decision to leave Bollywood. One was the Bollywood style of functioning where one film took two years to complete and actors committing to six projects at same time. He revealed that there were also too many underworld connections from Bollywood, which he wanted to escape. Kamal Haasan considered himself quite ‘happy’ while staying away from black money and all the underworld aspects of the showbiz. In 2024,he acted in Kalki along with Amitabh and Prabhas and was a big hit in North India. In second part, Kamal and Prabhas have major portions. Sanam Teri Kasam in which Kamal and reena Roy was dubbed into Tamil as Paadagan. Dekha pyar Tumhara of Kamal was dubbed into Telugu and released as Allari Mogudu Anumanam Pellam. In case you don’t remember – Aged father lives in his village looking after lands, a feudal Lord. Now son comes from abroad with a GF in tow. He wants to bring reforms in caste politics especially. GF goes back and son beomes hubby to village lass by default. For Hindi wallahs look up Virasaat (1997). This has been given a makeover. The catch is that South hero plays Father role and also his age. Here he sort of a Godfather kind guy but a rustic one. Insiders say that Salman who had seen Virasaat was excited . Story was pitched to Kamal ( original story is Kamal) and expected happened. Now it was Chiru’s turn. Here it seems it sounded like Jilla of Vijay- Mohanlal. But Chiru found it close to Seetharamaraju. Now will Rajinikanth bite the reworked script ? Kamal had at that time used a software called Movie Magic to write the screenplay. Taxes by Pushpa 2 Producers have been paid for Rs 282 crore as collections from Andhra and Telangana The claimed amount was Rs 380 crores.
