Vidamuyurchi 2025 First Disaster / Suriya Retro 1st single / Vikram Prabhu - Sushmitha Bhat film launched

Vidamuyurchi released on February 6. It had a four-day extended opening weekend but failed to make the most of it. In the opening weekend, it earned only 63.25 crores. On Monday, the collection dropped to 3.20 crores, a sharp decline of 88% compared to the opening day’s 27 crores. Compared to Sunday’s 12.50 crores, it dropped 74%.Yesterday, on day 5, Vidaamuyarchi witnessed an upward trend, but it was useless since only 3.35 crores came in. Such jumps won’t take the film anywhere, and its fate is very much sealed. Including Tuesday’s numbers, the total collection at the Indian box office stands at 69.80 crore net. Ajith Kumar starrer is an expensive film with a budget of a whopping 185 crores. Compared to this cost, the film has earned only 69.80 crores, meaning only 37.72% of the total budget has been recovered so far. A huge amount of 115.20 crores is yet to be recovered. It’s clear that Vidaamuyarchi won’t recover its budget and face a box office deficit, thus ending its theatrical journey as a losing affair. Meanwhile, globally, the film has earned 118.84 crore gross in 6 days. It includes 82.36 crore gross from India and 36.48 crore gross from overseas.

The much-awaited film “Retro” starring lead actor Suriya and directed by Karthik Subbaraj has been getting fans excited with successive updates. In this context, the first single song “Kannadi Poove” has been released as a beautiful melody song that will captivate the hearts of the fans. Debut filmmaker Shanmuga Priyan embarks on his directorial journey with the film ‘Love Marriage’, starring Vikram Prabhu & Sushmitha Bhat (Heroine of Gvm-Mammootty’s Film fame) in the lead roles. After Thalapathy 69 , Mamitha Baiju has signed a film opposite Pradeep Ranganathan of Love Today. The film is directed by one of the associates of Sudha Kongara. Her forthcoming film in Telugu is Dear Krishna releasing in January end. It is a bilingual (Telugu-Malayalam) film directed by Dinesh Baboo. “We did not want to dub the film in Telugu because we wanted to retain the essence of the story. We believed that we can do justice to the story if we shoot in Telugu – hence we simultaneously shot the film in Telugu along with Malayalam version,” said Dinesh. “Dear Krishna film is inspired from real life incident that happened in Kerala,” says director Dinesh Babu. “The film is based on an incident that happened to Akshay Krishnan a plus two student in 2018. The story is a testament to the miracles that unfold when we surrender to a higher power. Such miracles can happen to any person who believed in God.” The director further clarifies that Mamitha Baiju is not playing Akshay Krishnan’s love interest in the film. “But she plays one of the central characters in the story and drives the narrative along with Aishwarya, Avinash, Sameer, Shanti Krishna and Lohit,” says Dinesh who is also the film's screenwriter, dialogues and cinematographer. Having directed two films in Telugu, Papa Kosam (1990) and Bhale Mogudu Bhale Pellam (2011), the director is excited to release ‘Dear Krishna’ in Telugu.

Vikram Prabhu from the Shivaji Ganesan family is making his Tollywood debut with Ghatti. An announcement was made on his birthday. The film’s star attraction is Anushka Shetty. The first look poster presents Vikram in a ferocious avatar. The actor is shown being chased by the police through dense forests and ghat areas. What follows is a series of intense action sequences where he takes on goons. Anushka Shetty’s look and character introduction glimpse from her upcoming film ‘Ghaati’ was released on her birthday to her phenomenal response. The entire team was involved in a vigorous pre-production work that included director Tamizh’s travel across 40 places in Tamil Nadu & Kerala for the sake of the right location. Finally, he zeroed in a school in Vellore that looked perfect for his story backdrop. Lots of homework and hard work have been exerted towards the project.

In particular, the parade scenes demanded intense training that made the director opt for Retired army officers, Garrisons & police instructors instead of actors. Director Tamizh is greatly appreciated by the producers for handling the plethora of new faces. In particular, he has completed this big-budget movie with so many artists in just a span of 50 days.

Actor Vikram Prabhu was very much impressed after listening to the exceptionally brilliant narration and his characterization. Critically acclaimed filmmaker-actor Lal is playing another lead role in this movie. It is noteworthy that director Tamizh kick-started the Taanakkaran scripting process from Lal’s characterization, which is as powerful as the protagonist.
The multi-faceted actor MS Bhaskar will win raving reviews for his heart-touching characterization. Anjali Nair, who plays the female lead isn’t appearing in a blink-and-miss ladylove role but rather has a pivotal prominence throughout the movie.

Madhesh Manickam embarks on his journey as cinematographer with this movie. He has delivered a fabulous visual package, which will find its appreciation after release, especially for the parade scenes. Editor Philomin has done remarkable work for the entire film. His insatiable dedication towards this movie was evident with his non-stop editing work for eight days for one particular parade scene.

Art director Raghavan has played a vital role in shaping Taanakkaran perfectly. Even during the director’s location scouting process, Raghavan traveled along with him to prepare and deliver a spellbinding visual treat so that even the smallest object looks natural and not mere set property.

Music director Ghibran’s contribution will be the ultimate beautification of this movie. After watching the rushes, he dedicated 6 months to the background score of this movie.
