Mani on PS web series -Ram Charan and wife breaks You Tube records - Mayilsamy last film

During a recent interview, director Mani Ratnam was asked why he had not chosen to turn the story of 'Ponniyin Selvan' into a web series. In response, he explained that it would have taken too much time and the actors would not have been available for such a lengthy project. Instead, he decided to make a film adaptation of the story as he was deeply impacted by the novel. Mani Ratnam also admitted that he was uncertain if he had done justice to the story by compressing it into a two-part film, but was glad that it was finally on the big screen. The film, which focuses on the Chola empire, features an ensemble cast including Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai. The music for the movie is composed by AR Rahman. The watch borne by Vikram at a promo event is subject of how much it costs. -----------
